only if you include the firkins as well, then just on numbers alone, they should clean up any mess in no time at all....:)

After that then you will have to come up with an appropriate Irish name
to replace that of Brussels or even Belgium....will Hibernia do or is that too Roman for you?
The Irish empire starts here....

Naw, the rise of the 2nd BE but called New Caledonia.....how does that sound to you?

No, you're correct. I want GB to remain as 4 individual countries but one GREAT nation, so to appease the scots (shades of Neville Chamberlain), thought New Caledonia (for 5 years at least) be suitable, then after that rename it...

Parliamentary Union of Britain

Then we can all hop off down the pub for a pint of lager/guinness...

AND sod the EU!

Land of Hope and Glory clear sign all is not well when they come up with
this type of trashy idea. We need a country worth singing for first and at the
moment this we ain't got. Do remember, when the verses get written out do write
them out in Arabic, Indian, African, Polish and all the other languages now
spoken in England, for we don't just wont this lot humming along you know?
Yup, time for bed....

Doesn't England have its own national anthem, written by Francis Scott Key, using an English drinking ballad for the melody.

The only anthem used to date is "God Save the Queen". Personally I don't know who composed it.

Damn, I must be suffering from delusion.... Another great post from Chris.

However, I'm pretty sure he is aware that I & many others of our generation know the points he has raised which brings all my points to the fore with what Chris regards as my "dislike" for authority.

Just how in hell did we win the war? If for example, China says to hell with the West & decides to become the No 1 superpower, will today's society in the West have the same spirit as our parents & granparents generation had?

Personally I very much doubt it - not unless they get a super lawyer to get them millions when they have their legs blown off by a shell/mine.

Hold on....will there be any lawyers left alive at the end of the conflict?

Will any of us be left alive to really care?

For those that would be left probably wouldn't give a damn as China gave them the Ipad, smartphones etc....

edited again for spelling.

Pressure beginning to mount on Germany. If many more countries within the EU struggle to meet the 3% limit set by the EU, then Germany will be on it's own.

Will they continue to bolster the EU or decide themselves, "We are not going to continue in this vein" - In which case the EU will certainly be dead. Then the only question remaining is "Will it be buried or cremated?"

French President Sarkozy's getting desperate he's resorting to the British
politicians style of vote catching. He's told the National Front voters, "I have
heard you", but what these voters can't see is Sarkozy's Agincourt salute, held up
behind his back, aimed at them. One of our political advisers must be on detachment
to him over there, I wounder what other lines of rhetoric their teaching him. How
about, "I am listening" or, "You voters have spoken", or, "We have learnt
a valuable lesson" which actually means, "We should never have given you
lot the right to vote in the first place". My favourite one is, "We need to listen"
yet they are all void of one thing, the verb 'action'...action on behalf of.

Ah well, if Sarkozy looses the Presidency then at least he can take off
those silly high-heels that he wears. That would put him into obscurity, never get
picked up by the cameras he would always be below their line of sight.

Here we go, the next blip on the horizon. Gonna be an interesting summer.

Hunt

Jeremy Hunt says he has been "scrupulous" and will not resign.
I wounder how Jeremy defines, "scupolous"....To the press
saying that is like shacking a red rag at a bull...I bet they go hunting to
see just how scrupulous his scruples really are.

You're learning the ropes Nick, well done :-)

Don't tell them, Chris, else the'll wont to take my vote away.

It's a good job this is a kid friendly forum, as I can think of plenty of new titles for Jeremy Hunt.
