I have a Q6600 system that has been in operation since 2008. I just noticed it stopped crunching 4 wu's a couple days ago and is now only running 1 wu plus one cuda wu. I checked the preferences and nothing has changed. I'm running Lunatics Unified Installer v0.38 bonic ver 6.12.34 Any ideas how to correct this? This one has stumped me...

Well, you won't have been running BOINC v6.12.34 since 2008, that's for sure (it was only released at the end of July 2011).

So, when did you upgrade?

And did you notice the default value of

and if you are running multiple projects, ABC, enigma, primegrid to name a few, make sure you check your setting on those projects as well. I had joined albert@home and it was dictating my CPU usage, according to my event log, even though I wasn't actively running work from the project

Checking your allocated units, I do not see any CPU units. They are all for the GPU.

You are correct! I can't figure out why I just received GPU units. There's 419 in my cache and I'll never complete them before the expire running one at a time.

My Q6600 has been running crunching since 2008 not v6.12.34.:) I upgraded in August I believe so it's been working great until now....

consider running the BOINC rescheduler. It is a fairly simple tool to move WU's from CPU to GPU over visa versa.

THANK YOU!! It worked. It changed about half of my wu's back to CPU. I'm still interested in finding out why it started downloading just GPU work.

EDIT: When I found the problem I set it to No new task. Once I started it back to receiving task it only requested GPU task? I'm wondering if there's something in app_info that has changed...

I'm wondering if there's something in app_info that has changed...
...

The app_info is OK, but please upgrade using the 0.39 installer ASAP. That AK_v8b application has a bug.

For your Q6600 the SSSE3x application ought to be most efficient.

I upgraded to 0.39 and it still only downloads cuda wu's. BOINC rescheduler won't work running on a schedule. It fails to shut down BONIC. I'm going to let it run all my work then uninstall clean, the system then reinstall fresh.

waiting is unnecessary. If you lose your work Seti will jsut resend it to you.

the unified installer turns BOINC off so there is no need to restart anything when you install with it. Make sure you click the appropriate areas so you get MB work for your CPU
