Hey guys, this is my first post here.

so ive got 2 systems, one is running win7 intel 990X and a nice nvidia GPU, when i open BOINC and put is as run always it downloads some tasts and starts running well, my 2nd system is a nice dell Poweredge server with dual quad core xeon, which should rack up some nice points, this server is runing Ubuntu server 1104, i am able to open up the boing app and set it up exactly to my windows pc, run always, however this system is not doing anything. why is this?? what can i do.

thanks in advanced.
William.

Your linux host (6254826) has only two times had contact to the SETI@home servers. The last contact has been on 23 Nov 2011 | 0:10:38 UTC, when the SETI servers still hadn't had recovered from the last maintenance.

Try again and watch the Messages tab (or stdoutdae) for error messages.

If there are still problems after that, copy&paste the startup messages after a reboot here.

Gruß,
Gundolf

Hi guys , I just joined and am having a bit of trouble working the site out ,I'm used to being able to post in the forums , but I don't have credits yet ,,???
so could someone please point me in the right direction,
I'm interested in discussing the types of signal being listened for ,
is there any attempts to do high speed recordings , like a pulse containing a whole sentence or paragraph , I imagine it would be short sharp pulses , something like morse code would be lost and broken over the vastness of space ,
so I imagine the whole message in one blip/pulse , where should I go to discuss this ,??? can I do it without credits ,,???
I believe the message is there ,
we just can't hear it yet .

On my SuSE Linux 11.1 I use BOINC 6.10.58 running 7 BOINC projects, including 2 Virtual Machines via Virtual Box. 6.12.34 does not even start.

You need a minimum average credit (10 i think) to post in the message boards, with less than that you can only post in the Q&A sections, like here.

When you have some credit you'll be able to post in the SETI@home Science forum, and others.
