I opened up a temperature monitoring program a little while ago. My discs are still storing older systems software in places and I have been somewhat reluctant to test everything out. Also, I am perhaps a little stupid and have the box open on the left side towards me. I have a total of three fans installed on my system. In addition, there is the fan mounted as usual atop the processor. An extra fan is mounted on the roof inside the box, but is currently not connected. There is also a fan on the monitor card which points downward. Probably I do not get a temperature reading from this card. I could risk getting some unwanted things inside, but I keep my cup of coffee away and the wet stuff should not get there. The temperature monitoring program indicates that the processor temperature is to high (shows up in red). If the CUDA-option is set, the sound coming from the machine increases. I guess this is because the fan in the monitor card speeds up in order to get rid of the extra heat generated. The temperature readings apparently do not change. But the other readings (including both power readings as well as RPM's on the different fans) show up in green, indicating normal temperatures. Should I bother about this problem? |
