Message 1172394 - Posted: 20 Nov 2011, 3:19:38 UTC

Having a problem...Windows XP, Intel Quad 2.4 MHz, 3 GB, Boinc 6:12:34. Was running some Einstein, Prime grid, Collatz and SETI units. Problem started a few days ago. Running computer 24/7. Looked at work task in progress being done and right after work units that were running it states "Suspended...computer". I did a couple of virus checks, reloaded Boinc 6:12:34. Aborted all work unit and downloaded some SETI units. Everything going well until I came back to computer and all work had stopped same statement showing four four work units "suspended...computer. Moved the mouse and work units started again. After about 15 minutes of work units working once again they stopped same statement..."Suspended...Computer". Check my power options and it still has Never turn off monitor, hard drive, etc.,

Movement of mouse starts the work unit working again.

Have 8 other computers working no problems (yet). Any suggestions.

Sounds like BOINC thinks the computer is going to go into sleep mode so is suspending operations.

There's a preference
Suspend work if no mouse/keyboard activity in last --- minutes
Needed to enter low-power mode on some computers
in your online Computing preferences. It's not mirrored in the local preferences.

However, if you want your BOINC client to run independently of the preferences, select "Run always" from the Activity menu in BOINC manager's advanced view.

Thank you all. That was the problem. Somehow it had selected "Run based on preferences.

You'll have to attach (add) your computer to SETI@home again.

The last contact of your computer to the servers was on 27 Mar 2011 | 15:05:12 UTC, however. ;-)

you'll need to click on tools and add a project, then just add seti@home

are you running the BOINC manager in the simple mode? If so you just need to click on ADD PROJECT or click on ADVANCED VIEW and follow the previous instruction
