Finally managed to upload some results after suffering the same problems as above. The upload problem isn't due to bandwidth, it's due to some server side issue(s). But why going through a proxy can result in download speeds 20x or more faster than going directly- i have no idea. Grant Darwin NT |

When it says hostname it may not accept a full path like you want to use, but only setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu or berkeley.edu. So you would be able to enable the proxy in BOINC but exclude certain projects from using proxy settings. I'm using the GUI to configure the proxy and as written here, it should be a "comma-separated list of URLs for which a proxy should not be used". However I already tried additionally to the full URL "http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu", "http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/*" and "setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu" and that was the point, where I was out of ideas... Anyway, one sheduler request today morning was successful thru the proxy, so... let's see how it will go on. |

Forget SETI they had will have nothing to crunch I don't know what your problem is. Over the weekend, my i7 went from <400 tasks in progress to 800. (I hope it doesn't get so bogged down with Einsteins it times out on some of the Setis.) This is just a suggestion. For the last few weeks, I've had the same problem with uploads and downloads as everyone else. I used the proxy server that was suggested to get downloads to go through. This past Saturday, I decided to downgrade the BOINC version I'm running from 6.12.34 to 6.10.60. Haven't had any problems with uploads or downloads since. Everything is going through as it normally would. If you decide to take this action, be sure to "uninstall" the BOINC version you're running, don't just do an upgrade, or you'll blow out your WU cache. |

Between "Project has no tasks available" & "HTTP service unavailable" I can't seem to keep any of my rigs stocked up on GPU task. Would be nice to get them both full before the Tue outage, but there currently both at zero GPU task. Tried 66.201.54.238:8080 & 206.210.225.240:80 with no luck Any ideas? What's the problem now? We could read that the buggy S@h router got more system RAM in past and it worked a few days/weeks very well.. Since ~ one month again problems.. My machine can't connect well to the S@h server.. always backlogged ULs & DLs.. sometimes a few can go up or down.. I never saw this in past.. Some can connect better via PROXY now.. During the buggy S@h router time in past, I needed also to use a PROXY - because nothing gone through directly.. The same S@h router is again buggy now? - Best regards! - Sutaru Tsureku, team seti.international founder. - Optimize your PC for higher RAC. - SETI@home needs your help. - |

I am having upload issues too, but only on one machine. My others will eventually go through but the problem machine keeps getting a "Project file upload handler is missing" message. I don't recall seeing that one before. Any suggestions? If it will clear itself I can wait it out. I tried a proxy but it didn't help. It was doing fine until just recently. Could you quote the exact message from the message/event log, please? (along with any other messages relating to the same upload attempt). It sounds possibly similar to one I was dealing with yesterday, but I'd like to be certain before I take you down that path. |

I've been getting "Project backoff" since yesterday, and now have tons of GPU tasks on both my rigs just sitting there not uploading, which also means no new tasks are downloading. Its getting pretty old here as well, so starting up Milyway@home again. My Computers: â–ˆ Blue Offline â–ˆ Green Offline â–ˆ Red Offline |

My BOINC have again backlogged ULs, currently 44. Nothing go through.. So no work request. The GPU crunch only secondary projects since lunch time. The CPU have still ~ 2 hours of S@h WUs and will start then also secondary projects.. The last days it was not possible to fill up BOINC with enough S@h WUs for 24/7. More and more secondary projects on the GPU. My machine can connect very well to MW@h and E@h. It looks like I'm cut off of my primary project. :-( - Best regards! - Sutaru Tsureku, team seti.international founder. - Optimize your PC for higher RAC. - SETI@home needs your help. - |

Thank you for your attempt to help. That is the exact message (which is why I put it in quotes) and I got it multiple times. However, the units in question seem to have uploaded now so the upload problem appears to have solved itself. The only other accompanying message is that it is backing off for some time period then the cycle would repeat but that is expected in a case like this. I am going to chalk it up as an anomaly since it does not seem to be continuing now. Edit: Well, so much for the anomaly hypothesis. Just after I finished the post I rechecked and it had started again. The sequence is as follows: "Started upload of ..." "Temporarily failed upload of ..." "Backing off ..." "Started upload of ..." "Project file upload handler is missing" "Backing off ..." If history repeats then it will heal itself after awhile. I will wait and see. Thanks again for your interest. OK, if the word is literally "missing", then it's a different problem from the one I was thinking of. That one manifested itself as "not found": Do 08 Dez 2011 20:49:55 CET | Einstein@Home | [file_xfer] URL http://einstein-dl.aei.uni-hannover.de/cgi-bin/file_upload_handler: not found - if anybody sees one of those, give me a shout. |

OK, if the word is literally "missing", then it's a different problem from the one I was thinking of. That one manifested itself as "not found": Not in recent history.
