Something to remind our German folk here of the fantastic "Gunter Kallmann choir".
Their Choral arrangement of the well known piece of music by Roger Binge...
... Elizabethan Serenade.

Or a rendition by the Nelson Civic Ladies choir, really haunting...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJHpG-CIlcE&feature=related

Finally, the original version as first played by Mantovani whilst Roger Binge
was working with him and his orchestra back in 1950-1953.

But we must not forget the popular rendition cut in 1970 when reggae took off
wildly in the UK. Here's Boris Gardiner's reggae version...it became a big hit.

Up until the late 60's I was fully into classical music. But one evening my
elder sister took me to a bowling alley in Southall on the outskirts of London.
Aside the alley, my sister and I were using, sat this Jamaican chap with a record
deck plugged into the overhead sound system. This following was the first of
many records he played that night. Upon hearing this tune I felt someone had injected
sherbet fizz into my spine....I became sold on reggae for the next few years...

So what started the reggae scene off, that which came before it but was more
rooted in Jamacia and not well known outside, even in the UK. SKA, the forerunner
to reggae.....

The Ethiopians, a big SKA group in Jamacia at that time...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w83U4Q0e2WQ

Added to this some early SKA music coming from he Skatalites..

a little Opeth

For those that don't know. Opeth is considered a crossover group. Heavy/Death Metal and prog Rock and their singer routinely Growls the lyrics.

This song is from their Damnation album. I have to assume the name is meant to be humorous since every song on the album is much like this one. Perhaps Damnation for Death metal guys is a mellow song. I have read the lyrics and though the songs seem mellow the lyrics are a bit depressing
