All kitty things aside............

This is one of the best blues cuts ever recorded..........

From the movie..'Crossroads'. I suspect that it can be had for a couple of nickels these days. But, OMG.

I know I have posted this before. Ry Cooder plays the kid's acoustic parts. The devil himself (Steve Vai) plays the advocate. The devil is quite dismayed as the scene plays out.

Oh, this version plays quite well at higher resolutions and sonics......

I never found an interview supporting my suspicion......but I always opined that it must have really hurt Vai to play the loser's part. You can just seeeeeeeeeee the pain and anger in his face....oh, well.

that was a heck of a guitar duel

Who do You think You are? It's a program on KNBC 4 TV that deals with ancestry, Mine goes as far back as 1770 Wexford Ireland, to a Man named Gregory Bobier, No idea who His Parents were or when the family came to Ireland from France out side of sometime at or after 1690...

Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet

We're playing it in a concert in a few weeks so been practising it a lot lately. Quite what the neighbours think i don't know.

Trombone doesn't actually play much in the whole piece, mainly the first and seventh movements (Dance Of The Knights and Romeo At Juliet's Tomb), with the odd note or fill scattered among the other five.
There are four bars in the first movement (1m11s in the above link) that make the whole thing worthwhile though!

Still it's a good program, no matter where it came from.

I've been trying to decide if I like the idea of Queen being reanimated without Freddy Mercury. To help me decide, listening to some classic Queen.

Freddy Mercury was unique - no matter how good the new guy is, it won't be the same.
That said........

Many bands continue to be popular after lineup changes. I'm waiting to hear how they sound.
