Ubuntu doesn't seem to show the active processes for BOINC or the apps that BOINC runs for Seti. the only way I know that something is actually running is that the system monitor is showing 100% use on all Cores.

My OS installed the 32 bit BOINC manager on a 64 bit OS.
is an upgrade easy?

Another issue I've found is that the optimized apps don't seem to work on this system. I downloaded them from arkayn and noticed first off that the app_info mentions the 6.03 app even though linux can only run 5.28
I used the 64 bit first and since installed the 32 bit and still no love

answered most of what I asked myself.

THe advice offered for the 11.04 build doesnt seem to work on 11.10

also of note and still not fixed in dev. under help/about manager You'll see that the build is always called x86 for Linux even when its an x86_64 build. very confusing and annoying when deciding what optimized apps to use.
