Not likely, since the project is back again. Yeah well, maybe during another outage.....

I think you spoke too soon. I managed to report all of my finished tasks, but now uploads dont work and requests for new tasks just get a response that the project has none available.

Things seems to be up it is now just post maintenance DDOS the server time. The next few updates of the cricket graph will probably show bandwidth maxed again (hopefully).

OK, that's it then. The project could handle 2 billion results, and then it's kaputt, finito, goodbye. (didn't anybody have the foresight to think we could reach beyond 2 billion results???)

I guess all that's left for me then, is to realize that ET was not to be found by this method, uninstall SETI from all my computers, and say goodbye and thanks for the coffee (and the toaster I was promised but never got)...

NOT

:-)

Maybe the servers are processing toaster orders while the boyz are fixing the code...

Would be nice if you are correct, but I would be quite surprised if they are really ready to rock.

My best guess would be that they are just letting some completed work flow in to further whittle down the database before some real work commences.

But, you know the kitties could be wrong.........

Looks like that might be it. Scheduling is down again.

Have they found another server that needs some code sorting?

Oh well, it is the second day of the window and there is a "bit of a panic" in progress, sit tight and await the outcome.

We hope to get you on the ground real soon, as we will simply fall out of the sky on Tuesday.
Thank you for flying Seti R.A.C,
Have a great day.

Oh, woe is me and my big fat mouth. I must learn to shut the heck up, and not to prod fate with a pointy stick. This mess is all my fault.

A.

Just like back when IPv4 was made, those involved thought "there's no way we would ever use all 4.2B addresses.." We see what ended up happening there.

Are we going back to the stone-age of Seti ???

Server stats show a transitioner backlog of 366907 hours....

Well, maintenance is under way... so we'll wait

Well... 12 years ago I thought that we will be chatting with ET way before crunching 2 billion results... (specially when crunching just 1 WU was taking almost a week in that time...)

First signs of life? I just got one download through (at over 50 kbit/s) and the cricket graph is showing the first green shoot. Still no uploads though, which means I cannot now get any more downloads!!!

That's ~41 years, by the way. My Linux knowledge would indicate Jan 1, 1970 is what the transitioner thinks the time/date is.

And I do see some spikes on the right-most pixel of the cricket graph, but uploads still appear to be disabled.

Bugger, well they've got about five hours to fix it. I hope beta is online, I think I'll need a few tasks from there, got one at the moment to help tide me over, hopefully it'll be enough.

I noticed that instead of about once a day for reporting wu's, that reporting's now done more often, is anyone else seeing this?

I mean I thought DCF was a problem, but now I don't know.

All of my machines are severely limited by the current limits, so they are asking for work every 5 minutes...

Nope.
When requesting new work, it reports whatever has been done. Since the caches can't fill up due to the serverside limits, my machines request new work whenever they finish a WU (as long as they're not in project backoff for whatever reason).
