There's a posting in the BoincStats forums saying Rom Walton identified the problem on #boinc as a RAID failure, and they're reloading from backup but then have to figure out what's lost.

Now now, let's not exaggerate. It was taken off for "about an hour" yesterday for maintenance. Seems there was more wrong with it than anticipated. At least it's given me some free time, as now I don't have to worry so much about the BOINC 7 documentation. :)

I just hope that backups were made before they did what they did, not that I have to do all the docu all over again. :(

Edit: I asked Rom, got this as answer:
The RAID device that hosts the home directory for all BOINC properties corrupted itself.

As far as I know Matt is attempting to recover from backups. I don't know how old the last backup is.

I have been trying several times a day.
Certainly more than an hour :-)
Seems like more then two.
Guess I should have logged it.

I wonder if it is the same reason it was down for a while a few weeks ago.

Einstein has a back-up list where you can download BOINC from. Don't get the 6.13 version as that's highly pre-alpha riddled with bugs. We're still testing the heck out of it.

yeah, thanks I have been 'testing' 6.13.xx for a while, everything here is .10 except for my Mac and linux. Linux also came out on the 28th.

Part of the BOINC domain is back up. The parts that matter: the front page, the download pages and the forums. The Wiki and Trac are still off line.
