The Shortie Shower, before the weekend, came through fine and ended friday morning, very early, about 02:00 h. And I had to Abuse BOINC UPdate Button to actually get work, today, quite a lot of vlar work, WUs were almost stalled, during 09:00 till now, 16:25, UTC+1. Cricket Graph, Last updated at Mon Oct 31 08:17:16 2011, shows a saturated network (flow?)! Doesn't look OK. And one rig down, looks like the GTS250 is cooked, for me the end of the 200 series and before, changing this GPU for a FERMI, means, changing the 350W PSU, also. Just changed a 4th Seagate Barracuda 500GByte on my XP64 rig, managed to copy the complete Documents and Settings MAP and Program Files, so I didn't loose the work. Using SAMSUNG SpinPoint, HD502HJ(500GB) & HD103SJ (1TB). Getting an AstroPulse unit, is almost impossible, at this moment. Murphy, probably, woke up.........................? |

Looks like the cricket graph for the uploads are drifting down, would this be related to the shorties? |

as more of us start to experience this the pressure on network/servers will grow ... the probability of WUs taking longer to download will increase and the number downloaded will diminish as will caches all around ... my suspicion is that things are going to get worse soon ... in the meantime I am in a state of perpetual download from BKLY and it won't take to many of us to be in that situation before things get clagged up ... |

You're lucky, I'm in state of perpetual "Project Backoff" (on all rigs). :-) Even with constant button abuse I'm lucky if I get 2 units down before they stall again. :-( T.A. |

and it looks as though the storm is still raging on ... just about all incoming wus are shorties taking longer to download than crunch ... |

Like Slavac I find there is a certain satisfaction in watching shorties meet their match and get chewed up by a GPU in no short order - even my 460 get through two of them in about 5-6 minutes. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Like Slavac I find there is a certain satisfaction in watching shorties meet their match and get chewed up by a GPU in no short order - even my 460 get through two of them in about 5-6 minutes. My cards do them in about 2.5 minutes, hard to download and then easy to get rid of... The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I imagine i´ve got all the VLARs then. I have 126 out of 190 on my GPU and 120 of 200 on my CPU. Only 40 shorties. All catched today. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

it's partially back up but I have noticed that most of the gpu wus are on the shorter side of my normal processing time ... not 5 minutes but around 3 ... |

Shortie after shortie. We're being totally drowned in nothing else than shorties. No wonder the bandwidth is maxed as soon as the project comes online after an outage, and it never lets up. Yeah, shorties, takes longer to download them than to crunch them, sigh. I hear Ya Sten-Arne. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
