I agree with Nick,
In time we will have the technology to fly out past the Voyager spacecraft and bring them back if we choose. But even when that happens, for sentimental reasons, i bet we will leave the Voyager's continue on their lonely journey through the depths of space.

Another good read Lynn. One day we will possess the technology to fly off
into outer space thence be able to retrieve these two Voyagers. Bring them
back as our heroes to early space technology....one day.

Your welcome, Nick

Remember V'Ger from the "Startrek the motion picture" .....

I always wondering if the V'ger/human combining at the end of STMP was intended to be the beginning of the BORG collective

Thanks for the update Lynn....more to come from the Voyagers I feel
before their days are finally over.

Hopefully our NASA MARS corespondent Chris will soon have an update
for us on this project too.

I and my intrepid colleague Lynn, will endeavour to acquaint you all with the latest news, on the respective interplanetary projects that we are monitoring.

And I must say, "Very professional in response too".

Nick, you are welcome for the update. The Voyager probes have to be one of humankind's greatest achievement's yet. I see Chris is also doing a fine job!

Super update again Lynn...In a way you almost feel that the Voyagers have
finally left us and gone on to stray out into the "Universe". They have finally
left us behind and gone on to, "Where no one has been before"

And to think that possibly one day, in a thousand years time, their found
wondering back to us again. Upon retrieval a post-it note is found attached
to them reading, "We think these are yours, found lost in space, returned
no charge and have a nice day".

Knowing our luck, they may have forgot to stick stamps on it and we'd have to pay a surcharge!

And depending on which "State?" retrieves it, an import tax too! priced

I believe that they are way beyond escape velocity for our solar system.
Even though they won't be coming back, it's a good few thousands of years a time before they drift past any other star systems.
A good question is whether the gold records attached to them might survive long enough to puzzle an ET discoverer...

Martin

If the ET found the gold records, they are most likely will melt the gold to make spare parts or electronic components for their space ship and electronic system.

According to Exodus
25:1 And the Lord said to Moses, 25:2 Say to the children of Israel that they are to make me an offering; from every man who has the impulse in his heart take an offering for me. 25:3 And this is the offering you are to take from them: gold and silver and brass;

This is one of the point that support the Ancient Alien theory.

You need to prove that the Bible is certifiably and scientifically accurate (which it has been proven to completely fail all scientific translations) in order for that to be a point for the Ancient Alien theory.

NASA has switched off a heater on a part of the Voyager 1 probe, plunging the temperature of its one functioning instrument to below minus 110° Fahrenheit (minus 79°C) – well below the minimum temps of minus 31° Fahrenheit (minus 35° C) at which it was designed to operate.

Space boffins took the decision in order to conserve the probe's energy supply as it continues to venture beyond the edge of the solar system.

Thanks for the update Lynn L. One wounders now if NASA had wished that they
had built in a greater power source at the time this craft was built.
