Hi.

I just tried to login with my laptop after installing BOINC on it. However it stated that the password is wrong when I tried to login to the account that is active on this computer right now. Does this not workm or am I mistyping it 20 times in a row? :)

Best regards,
Davoud

You are mis-typing it 20 times in a row (or mis-typed it once when entering it the first time).

Since you are posting here, you can go to the Account page and change the password to the one it should be.

Do you have one or two computers connected to SETI@home?

If it's two, you probably have added the second to a new account.

Just found out my mistake. I did not know you need to create an account on every project you want to contribute too. I thought it was enough to just create an account here (So I tried to login to this account when using another project). But how does the information regarding all the projects work, is everything gathered on this page or do I need to be active on all pages for all projects to see my combined history?

Best regards

NOTE: To get your accounts on different projects to synchronize, there must be a path from project server to client to project server that covers all projects. e.g. If client A talks to projects X, Y, and Z, and client B talks to projects O, P, and Q, there is no connection between XYZ and OPQ. These two will be treated as distinct in the stats sites. Due to a long standing bug, make sure that the project that you joined first is shared among all clients, at least for a little while (number of projects + 1 connections).

I am going to assume that you are asking about inter project stats.

Each project is independent, and upates an XML file with the statistics for all clients that have actually been granted some credit. The external stats sites then download these files from the project servers and compile a database of the stats. One of the items is a Cross Project IDentifier. The stats sites use identical CPIDs as the key to matching accounts across projects. CPIDs are based in part on a hash of your email address. So, make certain that you use the same email address at all projects.

Thanks alot for the information. I thought it could be something like this so I used the same email and password for all of them. I am beginning to get a bigger understanding of how all things work which is always nice.

How long can it take before I can go in to "My account" and see the
"Projects in which you are participating" with all the projects i am in? Because for the moment it is missing two that I am participating in (both have completed calculations). These two is from a different computer though.

If you want to speed up things:
On every of your computers in BOINC Manager select every project and press [Update]

Now I see you participate in:
POEM@HOME
SETI@home
Rosetta@home

These two is from a different computer though.

If "These two" (which?) are only on that computer and that computer is not connected to any of the other (visible here) 3 projects the answer to "How long can it take" is "forever".
(no way for SETI@home to know about them and list them on its page)

All computers have the same email adress, and every computer is at least connected to Seti. However each computer has a different secondary project, or third.

That is correct and now every of your 5 project sites knows about all the 5 "Projects in which Davoud is participating"
