Fall Funding Drive

Time to reheat some leftoves.

Al Jazeera ran an article on the SETI Institute's closure and fund drive. SETI@Home will not see a single dime from the SETI Institute's promotional gains.

Though SETI@Home has come close, it has never actually shut down. Servers may have been down for periods of time, but the project has kept going on thanks to the efforts of the guys in the lab and the generous donations of it's users.

Add other ways of remittance convenient for volunteers, for example – Web-money (certainly if money is necessary to you). Any of the ways of remittance offered by you does not approach me. And such, as I – much. (I am sorry for my English – I use the autotranslator)

I think SETI@Home will have no problems with funding from here on in as there are so many supporters that we would not let it fail! The SETI Institute are having some funding problems, but they run in a different manner. Whatever their fate I feel that members of SETI@Home should also subscribe to the Institute as they are also very factual in other things other than SETI itself and as such a good source of knowledge for younger people wishing to get into the sciences.

Doesn't the seti institute require ~ $20 million per year? SETI@home does more with less than any other DC project out there, I am very proud to be a part of such a worthy project as this.

There are multiple ways to give to SETI. You can:

1. Donate directly to SETI via their website.

2. Visit http://www.gpuug.org/catalog to donate via Paypal through the GPU Users Group.

3. While at the GPU Users Group website you can choose to donate cash to SETI, hardware or help us fund projects such as an Astropulse server, RAID array and so forth.

i can sell you a server for 400,if one of your american friends comes to get it and wants to deliver it to seti :)

Just made a small donation of $15, maybee more later. It is a very honorable project and I so want to be a part of it! We might not find anything during my lifetime, but I´m sure we will, even if it takes a couple of hundred years!
