O/S is Server 2003, 32-bit Enterprise Edition.
Using MB7_r365 optimized apps, if I run Version 266.58 of the Nvidia display driver, I see lots of errors and Seti Beta will not supply more WUs. If I use Version 280.26 of the display driver, the app uses one CPU exclusively. Is there a version of the Nvidia display driver that allows these apps to work using the GPU on 32-bit Server 2003? Most Nvidia display drivers that work on Win XP work on Server 2003. Version 280.26 allows the optimized apps to work well on Win 7.

What is the relation, if any, between the -instances_per_device N command line parameter and <count>X</count> in app_info.xml?

How many instances of an optimized app should I expect to be able to run on a GTX 250 video card with 512 or 1024 MB of memory?

I am spending 3-4 hours per day trying to make these optimized apps work on Beta WUs. THEY are going to kill me. One central place where one could get optimized apps, app_info.xml files and knowledge of what display drivers one should use with what O/Ss would be a great help.

BTW, these forums may not be working correctly. I asked for similar information on this topic on this forum just a few days ago, and it was answered, but neither the question nor the answer are there now or at least I cannot find them.

No one is supposed to be using optimized applications on SETI BETA. The whole point of SETI BETA is to test upcoming stock applications for errors and bugs. Running optimized applications defeats this purpose. The team at Lunatics have expressly stated that no one is to use their applications on BETA.
