Here's the Thread for the unlucky up- and down-loaders.
The moaners and whiners.
We're going to have to be fun :-))

I said It's necessary... here it is!

Unlucky download--actually unlucky scheduler awards. My ATI 4550 which is enabled to run either Astropulse or Multibeam has not been award a WU since September 13.

I think Claggy has suggested that this may not be luck to me specifically, but a problem more widely affecting ATI GPU work award.

I sent a Bug report to boinc_dev yesterday, and sent my sched_request_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml file, DA responded with:

This was due to a bug introduced into the BOINC scheduler.
I fixed this bug, and a new scheduler will be deployed soon.

Hello Mad Fritz :)

some days ago I wanted to start crunching again. With my 6970. Unfortunately I haven't received a WU in two weeks.

Would someone be so kind and get me up to speed? What's going on at the moment???

cheers,
Frizz

Hi Frizz :-))

A lot...
There seems to be a DOS-attack against S@H, just to make the things worse.
But the funny thing is that I can now connect to the servers without a proxy and could upload, but still no luck with getting new work.

As mentioned many times before - patience has to be your friend.

Really weird, I got yesterday a few ATI-WUs via proxy (but all crunched already).
It must be some Voodoo thingy ;-)

Today is the first time in several days I have checked in with anything BOINC. I was somewhat shocked to see that my new i7 has a total of 8 Seti units in progress. Almost as shocking is the 1500 (+-100 or so) pending, which I'm guessing means my wingmen on those units are having trouble uploading.

I hypothesize that it downloaded a lot of Einsteins while it was, for whatever reason, unable to get Setis, and now Boinc wants to burn through some of those before getting more work. Either that, or I can upload but not download from Seti. I see over 800,000 ready to send on the server status page, so it's not like there's no work to be had.

FWIW, the Cricket graphs look awfully odd lately. Both lines have lots of peaks and valleys, and even sometimes bottom out, instead of their usual plateaus. The green rarely reaches its maximum and doesn't hold it for long.

BTW, Seti may have to say goodbye to one of my machines. Windows has become unstable lately and when I try to start Boinc, it tells me "boincmgr.exe is not a valid [somethingorother]32bit application" or something like that.

Whether this fix has already propagated during today's maintenance, or some other odd thing, my ATI host did indeed download and is currently running a first WU since September 13.

Thanks, Claggy, whether this is already the result of your report, or just a precursor.

I guess this post violates the thread topic by being positive, but I just want to report that my formerly disadvantaged ATI 4550 struck the jackpot after the project resumed sending out work today, and as of now has 81 tasks safely downloaded, with one already returned. So the Claggy to DA to release to user benefit cycle appears to have executed successfully in something under three days in this case. Hurrah!

Yea, but DA didn't fix Stock Nvidia work fetch, i fired up my XP3200+/HD4650/8400 GS host, and it's not picking up Stock Cuda 6.08 or Cuda23 6.09 work,
