How much total power do 7 PCs use?

I am going to run Seti@home on 7 PCs.

1 Laptop (Centrino Duo)
4 Pentium IV
2 Pentium III

Anyone can give an estimate?

(at the moment running on 5 PCs - 4 Pentium IV and 1 laptop)

There are a couple of other variables. The largest is the graphics card. Basic cards don't use much power, but the highest powered ones can use as much as the CPU. Disk drives also use power, so the number of these is fairly important in the calculation.

However, figure 200W to 400W each as a basic estimate.

the pentium III's should be put in a museum. they aren't very fast and can easily be outran by any $20 modern CPU.

Is it not worth to have 2 extra P3 compare to nothing if he is willing to use them?

If he still has a use for the computers, and they can do that job, they can join SETI and make them productive here.
