So after a good long discussion in this thread, i suppose we can summarise the discussion with the following points; 1. We seem to have proven conclusively that Aliens built the pyramids at Giza. 2. We seem to have conclusive proof that aliens did in-fact visit earth in ancient history. 3. We have proved beyond all doubt that God did in-fact create all the animals, plants and beasts on the earth. And us humans too! 4. We proved Ozzfan is a cranky person who idolises Charles Darwin and Richard Dawkins. 5. We proved Heaven does actually exist, beyond all doubt! So this was a good productive discussion guys!! "Good job you guys!" as the Americans would say. John. |

5. We proved Heaven does actually exist, beyond all doubt! I think we all could agree to this. Actually i saw it to today. Nice clear sky but a bit chilly. Cheers. |

Let's not forget how good the human brain is at seeing familiar patterns where there really isn't one. I.e., the many logs that have been mistaken for the loch ness monster, the Mars alien http://www.techchee.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/life-on-mars-nasa-captured-a-female-alien-220108.jpg, the man in the moon, Jesus and Mary on pieces of toast.... |

That's a very good Marsmaid there! No need for months all at sea or lost in space for that one! If we were visited by aliens they would have greatly advanced technology compared to us today If they transferred intelligence and technology to us it would be far beyond where we were now The ancients had no technology that was much beyond the stone age. Therefore (Conclusion) we were not visited by aliens. Modus Ponens |

If we were visited by aliens they would have greatly advanced technology compared to us today Daddio, Are you really sure? Are you really 100% sure there is no scientific evidence that we today do not have technology ahead of what we should have? Daddio would that be based on the "word of mouth" evidence you have heard on television or written by quirky archaeologists in books? Then my next question is do you believe the information being fed to you by the quirky archaeologists? They read history books and learn to excavate stuff from the ground. They know very little about advanced science. How much science education do you think archaeologists have in general? Would archaeologists recognise something they dug it out of the ground if it was an advanced scientific instrument? Remember that stuff rots in the ground! Would an archaeologist recognise a 10,000 year old powerful radio transmitter if he dug it up? Remember the components will have rotted! How sure are you Daddio? John. |

The main point of my posting is: "It is not impossible for a science and technologically advanced Alien species to visit Earth even if the journey through space take millions of years." I go by the adage that nothing is impossible. But is it probable? Given William's post before mine, I'd say it is highly improbable that we were ever visited by aliens in the distant or recent past (time being relative and all...). If we allow the data to lead us to conclusions, then there's no reason at all to even think we have been visited previously. |

I am as sure as I am about the sun rising in the East tomorrow. |

I am as sure as I am about the sun rising in the East tomorrow. Thats interesting Daddio that your so sure your correct. Personally myself, no matter what information i get, no matter what the source of the information, i always leave a small margin of error that i might be wrong. Even when i'm 100% sure about something, i'm not really 100% sure, just 98% or 99%. Always better to leave the door slightly open than to fully close it off. I agree, the Sun will rise in the East tomorrow. But then again, it only rises in the East on planets with the same rotation as the Earth. John. |

I prefer the aesthetic economy of mathematical argument, that includes logic. |

I prefer the aesthetic economy of mathematical argument, that includes logic. Bill, I know you well and it sounds about right that you are indeed a logical and mathematical person. Bill you also know me quite well, for over 5 years now Bill. We have spoken and discussed many scientific things in the last 5 years, so Bill you know that i'm also a logical and mathematical person. But! Bill you also have seen the very distinct change that has happened to the way i talk and discuss things in the last few months here on these forums. And Bill based on the way you and me used to discuss things, you know this is out of character for me. Bill why on earth would someone like me change from being a logical and mathematical person, to being someone that entertains thoughts like Ancient Aliens theory? Why would i do that Bill? Why would i, overnight, change from being a rational scientific thinking person, to being a person who talks about Ancient Aliens and God? Bill it doesn't make sense, does it? Old Johnney Guinness here has either lost his marbles or maybe, just maybe he is on to something. So Bill leave the door open, don't close it off completely. Its good to be sure about the lack of evidence for Ancient Aliens, but don't close the door completely. This will soften the blow thats coming in the next few months when i publish my results. The Sun did indeed rise in the East here this morning, thats 100% scientifically confirmed. But the written book of human history is not finished yet. Don't be so confident that we have all the facts. Human history is very sketchy to say the least. Its not as clear-cut as the laws of physics. John. |

Well, he says he will in a couple of months, so I guess we will just have to be patient until then. But we all know the moon is made of green cheese, I doubt if he'll disprove that fact. Everyone knows it is gray cheese. |
