Uli is heading in the right direction. But which bit, then which city, and where in that city, and what else is in that city.... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Err - I think your European geography is well short of the mark, Lichtenstein is not to the west of Germany, rather Lichtenstein is well to the Eastern side of Germany, and there a few countries that fulfil my description, but only one is the right one After consulting my atlas, I find your location of Liechtenstein as far off the mark as mine, It is at the south end of Germany, east of Switzerland. West of Germany, North of Paris, nor the Benelux or England. Yes, going further west, we find Ireland, capital Dublin. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Uli is heading in the right direction. Now, wait. You said not in England, then you said there is only one country that satisfies your clues. Last time I looked, The UK included England. In fact, for many people, the terms England, Great Britain, and the UK are used interchangeably. England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland are all part of the UK, not separate countries. (Yes, I know some of my Scottish and Irish relatives would argue that point.) Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Today all parts of the United Kingdom, apart from England, have their own governmental structures with varying degrees of autonomy. Your list omits a few other countries, Iceland, Faroes, Isle of Man, Greenland each of which is an independent country, but I'll let you into a secret - the country you are looking for is not one of those. Today all parts of the United Kingdom, apart from England, have their own governmental structures with varying degrees of autonomy. The same is true of all 50 States and the 5 US Commonwealths and Trust Territories, but they are not recognized by other governments as independent countries, and neither are the constituent parts of the UK. Your list omits a few other countries, Iceland, Faroes, Isle of Man, Greenland each of which is an independent country, but I'll let you into a secret - the country you are looking for is not one of those. Greenland is not an independent country, it is a province of Denmark. As I read your reply to uli, you effectively told us that it was the UK but not England. Is that correct or not? Today all parts of the United Kingdom, apart from England, have their own governmental structures with varying degrees of autonomy. Geography 101 Iceland is the only country listed here. Others like Greenland belong to Danmark etc pp......I ain't saying no more..... Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |

Folks from Isle of Man would beg to differ, they claim to have the oldest parliamentary system in the world in the form of the Tynwald. The Faroes likewise have a very ancient parliamentary system... But you are still no closer, or further from the city... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faroe_Islands Denmark is north of Germany. There is not much left to the west. Except the UK unless you want to quibble about terrrtories. Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |

Not Denmark (nice though it is). Think of the component states of the United Kingdom. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Well done Uli, your weeding was successful first time. Now to the city, the location within that city, and the monument nearby. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Well, its the correct set of sculptures, but not the correct location. They have moved around over the years. But St.Andrews is a nice town... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
