Thats not difficult, as im not here to better anyone. Im only here to contribute to the task. Ive took it on as a hobby and i buy all my own gear. Pay my own broadband, maintenance and lecky bill. I owe nothing to anyone and take nothing from no one (excluding advice!) |

What about all the work that was pending recently. A lot of what i have has missed reporting deadlines. Will it be scrapped even though the upload server was off? |

You should have very little problems so long as you get it in before either it is resent or the next person hasn't finished yet. If you get in before the next person then you will get credit and so will he. If he gets in first then you might see a message "returned too late to validate". Either way, it doesn't hurt too much. Yes, you were asleep at the time, and the tyre man came along and fixed it. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

The only problem now is I can't get enough GPU tasks to keep my 2X480 GTX's busy for more then 30mn out of hours. Either there is limits on or the Server Status page lies about how many tasks it has to send out. |

The only problem now is I can't get enough GPU tasks to keep my 2X480 GTX's busy for more then 30mn out of hours. Either there is limits on or the Server Status page lies about how many tasks it has to send out. The server staus page does not lie, but you have to know that at any one time there is a max of 100 tasks available on each download server. If your computer is not one of the first few to ask just after the tasks are transfered to the download servers then you get the dreaded "no tasks available" msg. Confusing yes, logical to the server guru's probably. Of the few tasks you have managed to d/load did you manage to see the inital estimated processing time, you might find they are much longer that expected (maybe 25* longer). To find out more see the "Shorties estimate up from three minutes to six hours after today's outage!" thread. |

Either there is limits on or the Server Status page lies about how many tasks it has to send out. Yes, I know all of this. I did see the tasks that it did get and the longest time I saw was 9 mn. Probably 90% of the tasks completed in 2mn. I am not getting the no tasks available I am getting the "no tasks sent" message. The only reason I can think of is because the computer has been off during the 85+ degree temps for the last 2+ months is Seti doesn't think I will complete the tasks in time. That should have changed when the tasks were all completed and turned in. This must be the issue, as soon as I changed my buffer from 5 days to 10 days I got more tasks for CPU. We shall see about GPU tasks. |

You also get 'No tasks sent' when there are only VLAR in the feeder on a NVidia GPU request. We see that quite often at Beta. |

May I ask why it is limited to 100? Why not put 10,000 out there at a time, so people who want work can always get it (assuming bandwidth allows it)? |

You also get 'No tasks sent' when there are only VLAR in the feeder on a NVidia GPU request. We see that quite often at Beta. The annoying thing is when you get that response for GPU & CPU work requests, time after time. None available- fair enough. But to just not send any? Grant Darwin NT |
