We should send our results by postcards, mybe this would be much faster then internet? And by the way, I would prefer this because it's much more personally...

Greetings from good old Germany,

I sure hope this isn't another raid failure. Seems like it takes them days to recover from those then another week or more for things to really get back to normal.

Job done - all the ones facing us are showing green now.

Probably just a matter of doing an orderly shutdown and re-booting them in the right order...

Great idea - we can then blame the postmen of several different countries, who will in turn each blame the other.

Now how do we phrase that card??

and will it all fit onto one card?

Just think about the extra work we would generate for the world's postal services!!! (here in the UK Royal Mail is complaining about the reduction in the number of non-junk mail items being sent)

Hi rob,
I would phrase it:

'Hi Matt!'

then take a line ...

and then...
This is the first result of the 1# PC (of 9!),
would you please sort it in???
Thanks.

and so on...
This would be way faster, then all we have seen in the past...isn't it?

I know, Matt is on tour... but let him come HOME!!!!

CU Herbert

Progress. All WU's from my home PC now uploaded and reported. I will leave the bandwidth to everyone else now for a while.

Zillions of shortie uploads are slooowly going through (and, unsurprisingly, all new tasks are shorties, too).

Thanks nmn17, my bandwidth is 51 MBits. I have to report ~4000 results.
Please wait for only 24 hours and we will see...

:)

Upload pending (project backoff: 07:15:42). Looks like it'll be a little longer for me :).

Likewise. Not entirely maximising my RAC potential at this current time as well, shall we say.

Status page shows the Upload server is up, but looking at the network traffic it would appear to be down again. Current traffic levels are what i've expect just for Scheduler requests.
And none of my uploads are going through- everything times out & then goes into project backoff.

EDIT- inbound network traffic continues to decline.

We need to get back to using real computers and send them punched cards with little notes written on the margin explaining what it is all about ;¬)
Cleaning up that kind of stack overflow was a real pain.

Been trying for 24 hours, no joy (despite what it says on the Server status page).

I wouldn't call it "working" but sometimes a finished WU slips through...

But you have to realize that everyone is trying to upload now at the same time
and that server cannot handle that many requests at one time. So just bare with
it and your time will come. I happened to upload a few on one of my systems,
but the others are still having to wait.
