I am unable to upload, is anyone else having this issue? With the upload server disabled everyone is. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

None of my PCs have been able to upload since late afternoon central time. Server status page says its down. The database/File status column may not be updating either Delta-V |

Certainly behaving as if the upload server is down. Status page not updated since 0:30 UTC. Oh well, just sit tight for another few hours until someone gets in and kicks the tyres. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Looking at the network traffic graphs, it shows the upload server has been deceased for some time now. 5+ hours. Grant Darwin NT |

And yet the download traffic continues full tilt. Must be downloads backed up during the terrible comms during the last week. 'Cuz nobody's requesting any new work once they build up a few un-uploaded tasks. Well, I'm going to bed now. Nothing to see here....LOL. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Hey. Not so fast. Did you notice that the upload server is offline? What are we going to do about it at 2:37am CDT? HEEEELLLP. Ok, so don't. I don't know WHY, but seriously, every time we have a "blip" pretty-much of any kind, something happens to one or more of my crunchers and I have to go re-start them. Do you suppose there really might be something to the "thermal cycling BAD" theory? |

Dunno what's going on, but one of my crunchers which has a few stuck uploads just requested, and got some new work. Very strange, obviously something amiss server side, but what? Most definitely a wait until they get in to kick the tyres job. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Dunno what's going on, but one of my crunchers which has a few stuck uploads just requested, and got some new work. It should stop requesting tasks when the number of uploads is equal to 2 * processors. I assume your few that are stuck is less than this number. |

Ah - I should have noted how many were in the upload queue, but I think it was less than the magic 2xcore (=8)... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Ah - I should have noted how many were in the upload queue, but I think it was less than the magic 2xcore (=8)... I need to find a 30+ core cruncher fast, Then i may be able to download new work :¬( |

My GPU has 480 cores, too bad that doesn't count in the algorithmic :-P |

Guys, I too have upload issues and can see the upload server is offline at the moment. What I have though is a lot of work which has been uploaded and still requiring validation and credit. Will this be a related issue? Ricky |

Guys, Yes your pending tasks are not a problem of any kind. It is how the system works & they wil lbe pending until your wingmen and upload and report their work. So in a manner of speaking somewhat related, but when things are working normally you will have some/many tasks in the "pending" state. im fairly new to this, so forgive me if its obvious If you don't have any tasks in pending then all your wingmen (term used to signify computer(s) that also processed that task) will have pendings. |

Oh I see. This is how amature I am but it makes sense now. Obvuiously the same file is processed by several people? On a lighter note i just aquired a batch of 45 HPDC5700's with 3.4Ghz Intel Pentium D's inside! Cant wait to get those up and running! |

Oh I see. This is how amature I am but it makes sense now. Obvuiously the same file is processed by several people? Each Work Unit (WU) is initially replicated twice into tasks, extra copies are made and sent if either or both of the original fail. Sometimes an extra copy is sent if the originals fail to validate, this is usually due to small differences in hardware or OS rounding differences, and in those cases usually all participants get granted credit in the end. To see who your wingman is for a particular task, go to your account page, click on tasks (or computers on this account, then computer, then tasks) and on the tasks page click on a number in the WU column. |
