Yes the first one is always the worst. Glad you are doing ok Hev. Thanks uli, I guess you've had lots more experience. I notice that the local population in this ageing hippy paradise (nods to Celt Tooth) don't seem too fazed. |

I'll second Uli's comments about earthquakes. The first decent one is certainly the most scary, subsequent ones less so, to the point of thinking "why did my chair just fall over, I was so nicely balanced on two legs for ten minutes, and I normally mange an hour....." (nods to Celt Tooth) When I lived on Elsmere Island we got the shakes from time to time. In the 60s and 70s I was in the RCAF as an NCO, not a good place to be a hippy. |

My first one was the Gilroy Quake 8/5/1979 at 10:05 PST. We lived in South San Jose at the time. I thought at first, I was having a serious dizzy spell. I had to held on to Daniel's bed, as I was just about reading to get him up. If the quake would have happened I few seconds later, both of us might have taken a serious tumble. The next time it happens Hev, you will instantly know, what it is. Get into the nearest doorway, or dive under a sturdy desk/table. Pluto will always be a planet to me.
