Yes the first one is always the worst. Glad you are doing ok Hev.

Thanks uli, I guess you've had lots more experience. I notice that the local population in this ageing hippy paradise (nods to Celt Tooth) don't seem too fazed.

I'll second Uli's comments about earthquakes.
The first decent one is certainly the most scary, subsequent ones less so, to the point of thinking "why did my chair just fall over, I was so nicely balanced on two legs for ten minutes, and I normally mange an hour....."

(nods to Celt Tooth)

When I lived on Elsmere Island we got the shakes from time to time.
In the 60s and 70s I was in the RCAF as an NCO, not a good place to be a hippy.

My first one was the Gilroy Quake 8/5/1979 at 10:05 PST. We lived in South San Jose at the time. I thought at first, I was having a serious dizzy spell. I had to held on to Daniel's bed, as I was just about reading to get him up.
If the quake would have happened I few seconds later, both of us might have taken a serious tumble.

The next time it happens Hev, you will instantly know, what it is. Get into the nearest doorway, or dive under a sturdy desk/table.
Pluto will always be a planet to me.
