Message 1153733 - Posted: 19 Sep 2011, 0:22:46 UTC - in response to Message 1153135.

I guess I'm plumb out of ideas, so this is scraping the barrel a bit.

I have been driving regularly since passing my test in 1963. Most years I did the average 10K, the last few years I was working I did 20K a year. Since retiring I do about 5K a year. How many miles have I driven in total? I have a rough figure in my mind which is probably within 10% either way.

This is a bit confusing Chris. The annual hints are in kilometers, but the question is in miles.

You excepted K at first, then I now see M.

K is a generic prefix meaning thousand. Although slightly unusual Kmi (thousand miles) is what I believe he was abbreviating to K.

Kmi is different from Km.

In one of the posts below he said "I have been talking in miles." So I think the K means thousand miles. Not thousand kilometers.

Celt - I have been talking in miles.

That looks clear enough for me.

I went on two outings on Saturday. How many pictures did I take on the two outings?

No worries, Chris, I don't feel unfairly treated at all!

(We South Africans can take it on the chin, anyway!)

John McL, let me start the fun by saying ... 148.

I agree that John Neale should be the winner but he graciously abdicated his win to John McLeod. So My guess is 72
