just installed Boinc on my FreeBSD machine today. (source downloaded from http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/ports.cgi?query=boinc-client&stype=all) I got this (last two lines) in the [Message] Tab "Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks" "Suspending network activity - time of day" Anyways, i will leave my internet connection on whenever possible. hopefully there will be new task coming into my machine. |

I got this message in the [message] tab Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usable version of Astropulse v505. so, i downloaded boinc-astropulse-5.06_2 from http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/ports.cgi?query=astropulse&stype=all&sektion=all and then make install clean but un-success.... my system is freeBSD 8.2 with gnome |

Standard apps don't need an app_info. If you aremanually installing optimized apps and an app_info you'll need to put the app and app_info in your BOINCsetiathome folder(whereever you've installed BOINC In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Just installed FreeBSD on my another machine. This time i went into /usr/ports/astro/boinc-astropulse and make install clean It successfully installed boinc-astropulse but when i start the programme, i got messages "Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usable version of SETI@home Enhanced." and "Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 129600 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks Message from server: No tasks sent." should I go into the folder /usr/ports/astro/boinc-setiathome-enhanced and make install clean ? |

SETI@home currently doesn't seem to send out AstroPulse tasks, though there are many of them in the "ready to send" queue. To avoid the message "Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usable version of SETI@home Enhanced," you'll have to find a usable version of SETI@home Enhanced, download it and add it to your app_info.xml file. ;-) Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. yeah, so I went into folder /usr/ports/astro/boinc-setiathome-enhanced and make install clean It successfully installed setiathome-enhanced and when I start boinc, the programme successfully downloaded 4 tasks. So i guess, my freeBSD machine is now installed with both astropulse and setiathome-enhanced. |
