One chance. No afterlife. No reincarnation. No returning to an "ultimate" source. You live. You die. That's it.

Prove what?

[Edit] Ah heck. I cut the chase and skip a few needless messages.

There's nothing that supports the idea of an afterlife. Anyone claiming there is an afterlife needs to provide proof for their claims, as often are the rules of Burden of Proof.

Ergo, I do not have to prove there is no life after death. It is up to everyone else to prove there is life after death since they are making the claim.

I expect to spend eternity after my death in the same way I spent eternity before my birth.

Between these oblivions, my plan has been to drink beer, go fishing and get laid as often as the situation presents itself. :)

I want to be where the martyrs live with their 72 virgins (young virgins) and a large never ending barrel of chilled beer.

I believe in an after life.

The beauty of my belief is that when I die, if that's it I will never know. If there is an after life I can smile and wet my finger and wipe it on the door post.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

I prefer to think the suffering is directly related to how we treat each other on this little dirt ball of a planet.

I'd like to make the world suffer less through education and kindness, but that always gets me labeled as a hippie and I'd like to beat those people half to death! (Hopefully you can see the irony in my dry sense of humor.)

The older I get the more I want to believe in an afterlife but after living a life that demanded proof of a concept before accepting it I still feel this is our one shot at life and once I'm gone only the feeble memory of me will live on.

I've never understood the whole 72 virgins thing. Wouldn't it be more interesting to have 72 women who knew what they were doing? :O

As for the OP question: Robert Waite and I don't agree on much, but in this we're pretty much on the same page. Live life while you got it because when it's done, it is well and truly done.
