I have no doubt global warming will be a very good thing. But instead of thinking of how to make money out of it you might ask yourself one thing about this "good thing". For what species?

Ice has a point. Oil is pretty safe until you do something stupid. Like take it out of the ground.

Yes, just making a point. However, totally agree that some use of fossil fuels is stupid given what it might be doing to the planet. I shall, however, continue lubricating my bicycle chain with oil since it's a bit stupid not to.

"You" tell us. Put down the Peace Pipe; stand up; walk out of The T.P and announce to The World how Homo Sapiens is supposed to do it.

Once Humans started using Fire, The Destruction Began. There is so much Life in the "Dead" wood used for a fire. Life seen with The Naked Eye, way down to electron microscope and beyond sized Life. Those Species had No Chance once the tender was lit and it all went up in flames for heat/cooking/light. DEATH to Billions of small life.

It started wholesale then and it ain't stopping. Human Presence on Earth or Not.

E.O. Wilson's Book The Diversity of Life gave great examples of Life down to smallest crack and crevice. DEATH, Hell, just walking around my wood floors all day long I'm crushing and killing the poor fellows. Destroying their Habitat.

A person can go Crazy thinking about it.

I am Null and Void. And A Darwin Barnacle.

Can't argue with that. I was camping this weekend where camp fires were allowed. I watched as a moth flew towrds the light but died in agonized flutters as it hit a scorched log. But then the gnat that I swatted against my neck died much faster.

Yup......Al Gore been hoodwinking you.

Most of you believe NASA.

Here is their take on the subject of CO2 and global warming.
It just ain't so.

It's an urban myth, my friends.

These days, geese can't even make up their minds when to fly South out of Wisconsin for the winter, and then fly North to return. They leave and arrive in fits and starts in the Fall and again in the Spring.

But, no, let's not consider the possibility that those trying to determine if climate change is occurring, and whether humanity has a sizable effect on it, would look at multiple areas ... not just run computer simulations on various scenarios.

heating being dissipated into space. They should come to good old DFW. you can go outside at 5 AM and still feel the heat on the pavement from the previous day. That's substantial heating. let alone that it stays in the high 80's overnight and the tap water is closer to bath water temperatures.

I give my place 30 to 60 minutes to get to 80 degrees with the air conditioner off. When I return, turn it back on, it takes until some time between midnight and 5 a.m. to have the place back to 70 or a little below.
But ... this is also some of the furthest south I have lived.

But it is being dissipated into space -- it is just that space is at ground level in Texas....

Does it really need people to be fried to toast and drowned in sand in a desert or otherwise battered to death by unusually severe storms to get people thinking?...

Maybe when sunbathing is outlawed on the sandy beaches of Antartica (high skin cancer risk) people will start to get a clue.

"Only planet", yes. And most likely, the only one we will ever have.
