The Physics of Immortality. - by Frank J. Tipler

Mr. Guinness; I know you have little time to read other material, but the above referenced book is a read a Chosen Person should read.

I don't know if others such as Tipler; Penrose; and Hofstadter were Chosen to translate to us mere Mortals, but like you have done a lot of work/research on The Subject of Science and GOD.

Have you read any of their works Mr. Guinness?

Anyways, keep Translating. We all need more info.

I am Null and Void.

Null and Void,
Thanks for the info about that Tipler guy. I had heard the name somewhere before but i knew very little about him. I read the Wikipedia page about him; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_J._Tipler

Having read the Wikipedia page about Tipler and his work, i know i don't have to read any of his books. He made the stuff up in his head. He is guessing his way along.

Null and Void, if you knew what i know right now, then you would know that Tipler is wrong!

But i do appreciate hearing about people like that. I'm after reading short pages about many authors and their theories. My work is NOT based on anyone else's theory. I'm not recycling other peoples theories. I know 100% for a fact that nobody else has gone down the line of research that i am currently doing.

I will keep translating, i will keep researching and i will go public when i have solid scientific evidence to back-up my claim. As things stand right now today, nobody else in the world is doing the research that i'm doing. I know this for a fact. People might be doing similar research, but they are not researching the book that i'm researching. Because if they were, the results would be front page news in every country in the world. Nobody has what i have! But many scientists might arrive at the solutions i have through scientific investigation and trial and error research.

John.

This mere mortal would never base such a strong opinion about someone else on a Wiki article. Someone who knows he is right and is unwilling to read or study someone else's work in my experience is almost always wrong.

Mr. J. Guinness is very passionate about his research and work. Passion is Everything.

I read Tipler's book and it was a Very Difficult Read. All of The Physics of it is Over My Head.

However, I did learn some nice Historical Stuff about John Von Neumann, Alan Turing, others; Bletchley Park, Institute for Advanced Study, others.

And Some Good Stuff about 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, Singularities, The Omega Point, and Lots of other Science Goodies. Yum.

Bob DeWoody,
Bob there is a limit to the amount of books i can read. I'm only one person and i have only one lifetime to spend time doing my research. There are a billion books out there and i know exactly what books i need to read. And they are not books by people trying to explain unusual theories. I'm currently doing a fast-track degree in chemical engineering. That will be followed by nuclear physics and general medicine.

If Mr. Tipler has written books on Chemical engineering and Nuclear physics then i'm more that willing to look at them.

Null and Void,
What does this mean:

I am Null and Void and a Darwin Barnacle.

Am I Dead or Alive?

Is it some type of statement about your current psychological state of mind? Is it a poem or what does it mean?

Put it into a GOD Science Equation and it Becomes The Gift for All for All Times and Time.

I doubt that proof of "God" will ever be found. Belief in "God" is an act of faith which either you have or don't have. In my opinion people who try to prove "God's" existence show a lack of faith.

I also doubt that even "God" can break the laws of physics so while I believe in "God" I also believe in how modern science describes what has happened since the big bang. I also try to never confuse folklore and mythology for science.

What you can do is the following. You can say that if a benevolent, intelligence exists and she has the traits and venues that people ascribe to her and that the bibles( koran, talmid, book of Mormon, etc) describe then certain things must be true also.

These are things like being: all merciful, omnipotent, receptive of entreaties, having a supply of virgins, maintaining Hell, limbo and heaven.

Then you can examine what is happening here on earth and you might conclude that you have a contradiction. If you have a contradiction then your original premise and conclusions are invalid. For instance there is no mention of modern conveniences and there is full receptiveness of slavery. So then, SHE is not omniscient and she is not just; nor even always kind. She must also turn a blind eye to entreaties and to injustice. Lots of contradictions here.

Most of us are capable of this type of reasoning by the time we reach too far into our twenties.

The process worked for me by age seven when I realized that if Santa Claus existed then his sled could never be pulled by only eight reindeer and that he would only have a few nano seconds to service each home and eat all those cookies. Also there were Santas in every store along fifth avenue. So I concluded that this wonderful story was not true and was Pap for the masses.

What you can do is the following. ...

I like it... Apply the scientific method to religious claims and see if they pass the test of being a testable hypothesis.

I soon came to realise that various religions merely created some sort of deity in the image of Man.

There are other philosophies that do not fall into the corrupt traps that various religions fall into...

God only exists in the minds of men. When man becomes extinct along with him too
so will God. Nothing written in the religious inscriptions can be substantiated.
If I were a God and went onto create a universe then onto creating humans I'd
wont to leave something behind as proof of my existence if I felt it necessary to do so.
I certainly would not entrust my evidence of being the creator to a handful of
scribes, for written words are proof of nothing but just pure projections of human thought.
Words can be used to portray ones experiences but still, never proof that those
experiences actually did occur. Collectively you can combine peoples experiences of commonality
together and form a conclusion that certain events may have therefore occurred.
Here then these events need to be substantiated and since, in the case of God
working through his Prophets, this can not be proved then you have to be skeptical.
As a divine creator of the universe, he that knows all, past, present and the future,
God would know of this skepticism to come and had that God been me then I would
not then have wasted 'my time' in the first place leaving proof of my existence to the reliability
of just the written word....now over 2000 years old.

If there was to be a God and also that life after death did exist, then I
wounder what people are going to do to keep themselves occupied from now
until eternity.

Reincarnation...absolutely....this is the appliance of science, for what was
once produced out of energy so can it be produced again and again and again.
We live in a universe one of many and the creation of and destruction to these
universes cycle continuously. Reincarnation, certainly but not in this present
universe, I don't suspect, but in another one definitely. The good thing
though is that you wont have to wait long for you reincarnation to happen.
Time stands still for you when your dead. For gillions of years and gillions
of universes may come and go before you come back and will seem to you like the
flick of a light switch time wise. The one thing to remember though is that
when you come back you will not know that you actually existed before. I
don't suspect that you will even look the same but it's just the recreation
of your mind, call it your spirit your sole if you like, that gets another
run, well, remember, energy created your individual minds so there's nothing
stopping energy doing it again, for you, after the birth of a new universe
some where off in the distant future.

Will there be religion when I come back, yes definitely going to be rearing
it's head somewhere.

Some scientist are working on the theory of the possible coexistence
of multiple parallel universes. Where you also exist at this same time
in these universes too. Sounds interesting but one thing for sure, due to the
appliance of science, you will come back again.."WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT"
Not only that, but you will keep coming back time and time and time again,
well, your mind side of you...you that's reading this post.
So don't fear death, you've experienced it oh so many times in the past
you should have got used to it by now.

I definitely believe religion was invented to keep the "rabble" in line. Promise a person that if he doesn't lie, cheat or steal in this life that he will get his reward in heaven. Meanwhile the nobility and religious leaders lie, cheat and steal and get their rewards in the here and now.

It was also invented to explain all of the things that primitive men couldn't comprehend. Bad weather, ruined crops, famine, blame them on the wrath of God. Go to war, convince the populace that God is on our side. Loose the war and God must be angry.

As we have learned more about how nature works the need to have a god to blame or give credit to diminishes.

But there may be a few mysteries that even we smart twentyfirst century humans will never figure out so God still has a toehold in our lives.

God only exists in the minds of men. When man becomes extinct along with him too so will God. ...

Terry Pratchett expands upon that idea in his Discworld book "Small Gods". Highly prophetic!

If there was to be a God and also that life after death did exist, then I
wounder what people are going to do to keep themselves occupied from now
until eternity.

Also #1: that eternity would be awfully crowded with every life lingering around.

Also #2: How much 'life' do you consider to be 'life'? Organisms with nervous systems? Organisms that respond to their environment? Single celled creatures? Replicating chemicals? Sustained reactions? Anything that converts energy?...

Also #3: There is a good argument against reverse time travel in that historical events would become crowded out by time travel tourists from the future. Such crowding out is not recorded in our history! Similarly, for eternity to accumulate all life, you can argue that to be unlikely due to the implausible crowding out!

Also #4: For people that have their name behind notable ideas or recorded events, you can claim that some of their thoughts have gained an immortality in being kept alive in the minds of those who follow those ideas.

Reincarnation...absolutely....this is the appliance of science, for what was once produced out of energy so can it be produced again and again and again. ...

You can claim that we have been reincarnated in that we are all made of atoms that were created by now dead stars, and since then likely recycled a few times through other living creatures here on Earth...

Note: On Ilkla Moor Baht 'at :-)

... So don't fear death, you've experienced it oh so many times in the past you should have got used to it by now.

That is after all only a state of mind... The physical reality is that you will never knowingly experience it.

One thing that religion or philosophy can help with is for how you lead your life up to your death (and transistion to non-sentience/non-existence).

It certainly has been used to keep an element of control over people.
But whether
religion or philosophy can help with is for how you lead your life
is all dependent on what religion of philosophy one chewes's to
follow.

Such crowding out is not recorded in our history! Similarly, for eternity to accumulate all life, you can argue that to be unlikely due to the implausible crowding out!
...Time travel, may be possible at the subatomic level but higher would involve matter possible having to transgress through extra dimensions. Not quite sure what would happen to a human if he suddenly became
exposed to four or five dimensional space. May be no harm at all but wowww!!
wouldn't this experience be like going on some form of drug-trip?

If The Rabble did not have Religion, what would keep them In Line?

Reason. Rationality. The Scientific Method? Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll?

Certainly watching The Adults In The Room are Great Lessons for The Rabble to follow.

I don't know how many Riots have started during a Church Service, maybe they happen and are not reported. Certainly many a riot has started at a Soccer Game, and In The Streets of Many a City.

The Church of The Rabble Rousers.

Yeah, I don't make sense, but being Stupid keeps me from being Roused.

Wow! Null, you've been on a hell of a trip, trusting that it was not drug related
naturally. Did you touch the surface of the "Brane" if so what did it feel like.
What did four dimensional space look like with relation to matter..tell-me tell- me.....were you able to move in all planes at once, unaided, and without physical restrictions...tell us more for we wont to know...
