When i srun the software it says no work to be done for this project! Is that normal?

That depends on how you define "normal" ;-)

Of course, there should always be work units on hand, but there are ongoing server/bandwidth problems at SETI@home, so currently it's "normal" that there are no tasks available.

They have work coming out slowly. Just let it keep trying, and when it is available you will get work.
