Hey guys I'm new here and excited to start this with everyone. I just have a question, I downloaded everything and it all seems to be working fine and I have a project going with 2% completed. Now my question is do I get credits after each job is done (when it reaches 100%) or am I supposed to be getting credits as the project progresses because currently I have 0 and my pending credits is also 0. Welcome at SETIhome and the forum! Just about terminology: you (or your computer:-) are processing a "task" or a "work unit"; the project is SETI@home itself. ;-) You'll get credit for a completed task after it has been uploaded and reported and your "wingman" (the person who got a copy of the same task) has reported as well. And, of course, the validate processes on the SETI@home servers have to be running too. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. Kind of related to this same question, Reporting. Is this something that happens automatically or something I have to do manually? Just got started a couple days ago and have one sitting in my queue reading Ready to Report with another due finished in a few hours. ID: 1126953 · |

It happens automatically at the next contact of your BOINC client to the SETI@home server (scheduler). If your second task is uploaded until then, they'll be both reported at the same time, which is the reason for this feature, as it's less strain on the database when several tasks are reported simultaneously. lol No, it seems to be reporting just fine now. I'm just still figuring out the whole process. At least I'm assuming it's doing what it's supposed to being the "Ready to Report" tasks keep disappearing and new ones queuing up. Thanks folks! ID: 1127622 · |
