....

The awesome support means I can get a Corsair Gold AX-1200 on the way, which will probably serve as primary while the RMA on the unit takes place, as well as serve for future upgrades.
....

Jason

These donations are always well invested. :-)

Yes, and small payment for the countless hours he spends at it.

You are quite welcome, Jason.
Hope the new PSU serves you well.

Still waiting :) Both the new PSU & the RMA replacement seem to be coming the long way ... Looks like I picked a PSU that is very new here, so it takes a while to travel via kangaroo from melbourne to Adelaide I guess.

[Update:] The new Corsair AX1200 is in, the 480 back in place, machine cleaned out & easing back up to full crunching & development capacity.

I did grab pictures, and I'll get them organised since they might prove useful edutainment to those wondering what difference a well thought out PSU cabling scheme can make to the machine...how dusty these boxes can get inside, or even how much stuff you can cram on a uATX motherboard in an ATX mid tower :D

Still waiting on the RMA (naturally) which will be relegated to backup spare now I reckon.

Soooooo glad we gotcha back up and running, Jason. You'd be a little stressed out about now waiting on that RMA.

This was my idea Mark since i know RMAs usually take longer.

I didn´t expect the new order would take that long.

Well, you certainly were right. Jason's got the new PSU humming, and the RMA is still in limbo.

It only took this long as apparently I have one of the first AX1200's (actually suffixed with an AU probably for the IEC mains cord different to overseas) in this country, and I prefer to order parts from Melbourne than use local suppliers, due to explicit warranty/RMA policies & procedures etc, as well as much wider stock range over the state border in Victoria.

Can usually get only a more limited mainstream selection of parts locally & relatively poor service. Still even that's better than when I lived in Western Australia... W.A. stands for "Wait Awhile"... I'm still deciding what S.A. stands for .. "Service is Atrocious" seems appropriate :P
