I can't imagine getting 1000MHZ on stock clocks. I've not seen anything close. I've gotten mine fairly stable up to 900, but inevitably, a minor blip happens every few days and downclocks. 850mhz is fine though.

In fact, the 768MB versions tend to clock higher because of less memory chips...

Personally, I wouldn't expect to hit 1k MHz on it myself. It's clocked at 810 internally, but individuals are reporting they can overclock it to 1000. I don't think I would even bother trying to overclock it, as I'm not looking to use it for gaming. I'd much rather undervolt it and determine what the minimum voltage level necessary to run BOINC apps would be at it's stock speed, so that I could lower the total wattage needed to power it.

Others might not be looking to reduce power use so much, instead favoring more computational power.

I still think that this particular 460 card represents the best value for S@H currently.

Oops, forgot to mention, that this model card has 0.4ns Hynix ram apparently. It may be running at 3900 MHz but apparently is rated for 4500 MHz.. The otehr 460 cards appear to be using the slower Samsung chips. That will probably be changing very quickly if supplies of the newer ram remain available for GPU production.

I have the GTX460 Hawk Talon, I bought it back in November. It certainly will not get to 1GHZ without some ridiculous voltage that will severely cut down on its operable lifespan. I currently run mine at 850/1700/2000 @ stock voltage. I get around 13,500-15,000 RAC depending on how much time I use my GFX card for other purposes other than seti. It runs extremely cool, under 70C after months of operation. It would run under 60C for the first 4 months, I just haven't taken the time to completely disassemble the cooler, clean it, and re-apply thermal paste. Overall I have been extremely satisfied with my purchase of this card, I have never ran into issues with it.

My msi GTX550 ti is running 950/1900/2150 stock.

how much can i overclock it without loosing stability? and without changing the voltage?
