Please check your Network, it is not working for all people that helps you for the project.....

since many days the scheduler and up and download server can´t connecting for all people. It is no error by the users. a user from here means, this must be a bad routing table map in seti server !!! ??????

here a official test by external site by traceroute.org to the seti server (208.68.240.20):

my option for the time is, i use a free proxy port from sites or people. This is heavy dangerous, also it works. Only the most free proxys close after a day or i must actual the ip. that is no funny. and not all do work with RPC

Hmm... I don't see any problems from here, even with my UMTS connection, which is not the best on this planet.

Actually, now that the splitters are somehow slow, the connection to SETI is working unusually good.

that what i say, many users can connect.... any no go. Do you think i go from my free will over a proxy? in the last 10 years i go always direct.

i am grey hairy while to many test come to kill the connect problem ;-) ;-)
are any users like me blacklisted on the server ? ;-) lol

I think the point being made is that if some users can connect, then the problem cannot be SETI's as your first post requests them to fix the issue.

If some users can connect and others cannot, then the problem must exist somewhere in between those who cannot connect and Berkeley.

this answer is to easy for me. it must be mysterious that with the server damage on 27.5.2011 and with the new start. At this exact time point, any providers begin to start to change anything on her cables and configuration ? And then not omly one Provider ? Never .......

on my sytem were no great changes go and my system was running fine with Berkeley in the last years. only to 15.06.2011

the change by me is only Boinc 6.12.26 !!!! And it work no downgrade on 6.10.60 like before. only a fresh installation and lost many datas

You do realize that routing is controlled by many many people between you and Seti servers. If others can connect it's not an issue with Seti, it's something to do with the routing through various providers to you. Cabling and local server configuration on the Seti side would affect everyone in the project, not just you or a single provider. Of course unless they have used IPSEC etc, to block communication with a provider, which I doubt they would do because they need all the help they can get.

I would suggest you check your network by going through a different DNS or a proxy and see if you can raise Seti.

Yeah read through your posts. You seem to be getting communication with the servers since you can push through a scheduler request, you just can't upload? On my end everything is cherry, at least for the moment. My workunits are going through as fast as ever on the download and uploads. One machine I have is pushing them just about as fast as it's getting them done, the other for some reason likes to hold on to a few before it does anything. This is on 6.10.60/6.10.58 Boinc. What version are you guys running?

Ok, but what about the users that can connect? The system is only broke for some but not for others? The only way that can be true is if something is wrong somewhere between the two networks of those that cannot connect.

Other than pointing out a coicidence, can you point out exactly how such a half-broken configuration can occur in networking that would replicate this situation strictly on SETI's end of the connection?

Be sure to read -BeNt-'s reply first before you attempt to do so.

This is on 6.10.60/6.10.58 Boinc. What version are you guys running?

6.12.26 here, and I'm not having any issues. I also use my own private DNS servers at home.

I tried to connect using my neighbors using a wireless dongle last week and no joy...And they are on Insight. I'm on bbtel (Local Telecom) and got the same messages from both.

6.10.56 is working fine here for me on XP, Vista and Win7. All uploading/reporting/downloading is doing very well in fact.

Cheers.

No problems here with a combination of 6.10.60 on windoze XP pro and 6.10.59 on 32 bit Ubuntu.

I had the same sort of trouble with one of five computers which was also one of three on the same router. It went four days without connecting. I kept getting "Internet...ok, project...down" messages. The other two computers on the same router were fine and were connecting.

I was told to leave it alone. I did. It connected a day later without my touching anything.

Will leaving it alone, changing nothing, work for you? I do not know, but you have done everything I could think-of and some things I did not think of. You may be rewarded by walking away and just waiting.

There is something happening somewhere that I know nothing about. I still do not know what it is that I did not know, but I now know that there is something I do not know.
