Why you don't use 275.33 driver?
This gave on my system little bit speed up.
You saw my test thread? ;-)

I'll try 275.33 Sutaru, and we'll see if it changes anything. It's possible though, that the ION gets slower and slower with newer drivers.

Yes, on my system it's true if I would sticky with stock 6.09_cuda23 app.
In this case there is a big speed difference between 190.38 (fast) and 275.33 (slow) driver.

But if I compare the 6.09_cuda23 & 190.38 driver with the x38g_cuda32 & 275.33 driver, the last combi is little bit faster. But OTOH the last combi use more CPU time.

Sten, someone else over on Lunatics is having the same problem. He is trying driver 270.32 and it looks like that might have done the trick.

Like Perryjay mentioned it will only work with 270.32 like it seems.
Try those please.

I dunno where you get those strange versions from, I can't find 270.32 on Nvidias site, not even in the archived/beta section

Try this.

I DL the driver only from nVIDIA..
If you DL from somewhere other, you don't know what you DL additional also.. ;-)

I found the 270.61 (WHQL) on the nVIDIA DL site, maybe it work with this?

BTW.

If the 270.32 isn't available on the nVIDIA DL site (beta and archived area), I guess this isn't an officially nVIDIA driver, this is a driver mod.

Yeah, I found that one too, I'll try it when I sort out the other problem that just made it impossible to install anything. I've had soime 7-zip errors that just makes it impossible to do any driver installs at all

Hmm? Why 7-Zip?

If I DL the drivers from nVIDIA it's a .EXE file.

Yes, but when you install them there is a 7Zip routine involved when unpacking the files into the Nvidia directory before the install file is started. I'll fix that problem

Really, nVIDIA use 7-Zip for to unpack the .EXE?

Maybe you can choose in the 7-Zip settings to exclude the .EXE files, or something similar?

I 'install' (unpack) the .EXE always in a new folder if I install a new/other grafic card driver. Before I uninstall always the old driver and the old folder.

I've upgraded drivers to 275.33only on FERMI cards (GTX470 & 480) and they also gave some speed gain and more power use. (~10%)

But not on my rig with the older GTs250.

Load is also better and more consistent, also GPUz (0.53) now gives correct
readings on my ATI rig, which showed 100% use for the first card and almost
no load on the second, which was true, but not as bad as GPUz showed!

I would say the new apps are a big success!

Unfortunatly one rig is down and has a GTX470 which I will move in my
HP, it now has the GTS250.
The WUs on that rig, probably will time out, cause it looks like, it took a hit, from
the lightning strike, a few days back. (Although it also has surge protection, this one was under the window, where quite a few 'sparks' flew around, 2 HDs also are
gone, static electricity, a real killer, for electronic and computer hardware!

And just returned to my appartment, cause off a fire on the 3th floor!
But no real harm done.......

Ok 270.61, same problem. Does not work, does only see onboard memory. I'll go back now to 266.58.

270.51 is the last driver that is reported to work,

270.051 shows more than the ION has (256MB)
NVIDIA GPU 0: ION (driver version 27051, CUDA version 4000, compute capability 1.1, 306MB, 35 GFLOPS peak)

270.032 is missing 14MB of 256MB
NVIDIA GPU 0: ION (driver version 27032, CUDA version 4000, compute capability 1.1, 242MB, 35 GFLOPS peak)
It works with x38g properly on my ION

(...)
At least now I know for sure, that 266.58 is the last official driver that will support looking at shared memory for the GPU. It's the last driver that sees not only the onboard GPU memory, but ALL memory the GPU can use.

I can't imagine that nVIDIA want to exclude the little ION from the CUDA calculation.

Maybe the button is now somewhere deep hidden that the ION have also access again to the system RAM?

If not, maybe someone which have access to the nVIDIA/dev area could tell the prob there..
