I have tested my conection several times and get 17mbps down and 22mbps up but the tasks downlod much much slower and now i cant get any new tasks! The reliabilty of seti is horible. over the last 30days I have 90% uptime and a internet conection 99.226% the seti servers seem to be at best 75% up. Is this assment corect or is the problem only afecting me?

SETI has been having some technical problems for the past week or so. Part of the problem was short work being sent out where most users were finishing them faster than they could fill their caches of work causing traffic jams.

These kinds of problems are bound to happen with 500,000+ users in such an under-funded project.

It's only a problem if you make it a problem. So why not use BOINC to its fullest potential and attach to a couple of other projects?

When the answer to that is that you are here only to run Seti, then the answer is yes, it's a problem only for you. It ain't a problem for me, but then I don't run Seti anymore. It ain't a problem for Ozzfan, as he's used to all this, plus he knows that your download speed does not in any way affect the upload speed at Seti.

Thank you I did not know there were other projects. I was not complaining just trying to figure out if the problem was on my end or not. I did not know that there were over 500,000 people useing seti or that it was underfunded! And I do see that work went from the 20-50 hour tasks to 1-2 hour tasks that explains the backlog. I was planing to build a quad zeon workstation to run boinc on but I now can see that the problem is not a lack of users but of either server capacity or bandwith. I would like to know what is needed at seti. I'm not rich but I will try to help.
