I just installed my BOINC software and created my account. But the screen says 'Error-no work available to process'. What does that mean??? Is there something wrong?? What should I do? |

I am pretty sure that it doesn't say 'Error' before 'no work available to process' ;-) That is indeed no error but an unfortunate server side condition. You'll just have to be patient until there are new tasks available. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. There are preferences you can set with regard to the GPU. These can be found on-line and within BOINC Manager. The ones in BOINC Manager override the on-line preferences. Watch out with just looking at them, as clicking OK on exiting that preferences window will tell BOINC to use them immediately. Anyway, your system has an ATI GPU. These aren't used on this project, unless you specifically tell BOINC to do so, through a 3rd party anonymous platform application and file (app_info.xml file). You can use the ATI GPU by default on Collatz, Milkyway, Primegrid and DNetc. And even then, you may want to run it only when your system is otherwise idle, when you aren't using the system, since doing calculations on the same GPU that you use to display everything on the monitor and probably game with, isn't that good an idea. Not unless you have oodles of RAM on it, and to be honest, 512MB isn't oodles. Not with 1GB, 1.5Gb and 2GB systems out there. |

You don't have to do anything. :-) BOINC cares for all that automatically. If one of the needed servers should be unavailable, BOINC'll try again later. BTW, about 17 minutes after your post, four of your finished tasks were uploaded and reported. Did you do anything? ;-) Gruß, Gundolf |
