	We all know the limitations of the connections to the servers, until the university change this is or SETI is "outsourced" to a better connection, then problems will occur. I don't care about RAC, I care about being part of a project that may ultimately make a difference to everyone on this planet. The question of "are we alone?" I dont have the resources to be able to make a mega-cruncher machine, so am happy with what I can do on my resources available, crunching away 24/7 and if I run out of work, ah well. The point being, things do get sorted at some point, the guys know what needs to be done but they are also busy doing other stuff, that probably 99.9% of us will never see/ know about behind the scenes. If Matt is busy with his music career over summer and doesn't post then that is his choice, updates about his music career perhaps in Cafe Seti would take our minds off any problems. Some of the pictures Matt has posted of his hiking vacations have been spectacular scenery and well worth looking at. ____________

	So the all important Kepler data sits in a box being "pre-processed and crudley analyzed? It seems priorities are akilter in SETI's lab. I'm sorry so little funding is allocated and that the staff is but part time. Recommend they focus sharply and perhaps allow volunteer's to write stuff up with a a daily tech brief to the chosen authors. This would releive the staff from the tedium of keeping the people who are processing the data for the project informed as to what's about.. Let's load up the KEPLER data and process it and put the other stuff on the back burner for later. One mans humble opinion... ____________

	Hi all, the last days are really boring. The upload does not function and if it works a lot of my Results are lost anywhere in the Net. My Computers are running all Day and Night. Well, Gundolf, it looks like the posters simply check for the latest time noted for a comment on a likely thread. Ahh..., as I do. However, I tend to restrain myself from commenting and just read about the problems others are having. (And usually only when I am suffering problems on my end.) This lets me know that SETI has had some glitches and I'm not alone with being unable to upload, D/L, and so forth. Misery does love company, after all. LOL! I do agree with you that it's better to choose the appropriate board for the subject if one wishes to actually make a comment. However, if SETI has a long enough downtime, I hope the crunchers will contribute to the other, worthwhile, distributed computing projects like Einstein, Climate, or whatever science project piques their interest. It's my personal feeling that if more cycles were spread out with other projects, SETI wouldn't be as overloaded. And if one only desires to participate in a single project I recommend not with LHC. ;-P ____________

	Sticking to technical news to at least some degree, I notice over the past 2 days the cricket is giving an unusual pattern showing a moment of 'downtime' after regular periods, say every 2 hours. What's causing this?
