Message 1115762 - Posted: 11 Jun 2011, 4:17:00 UTC

My computer just notified me that service pack 1 is ready for me to install on my Win7 64bit rig. (This one, my daily driver).

Anybody else install it yet?

Any issues?

I haven't had any issues with it. Course, 7 isn't on the daily driver.

I have it on all of my systems (4 PCs, 1 laptop), no issues I've noticed yet. The only non-issue was that the install failed the first time it tried on one system, but worked the next time. No idea what happened the first time.

I have it installed on two PCs at my house; my daily driver and one other machine. So far, it's very solid. Of course, I don't let any of my machines go into standby at all.

We're also getting ready to deploy it on all the Win7 machines we just deployed company wide.

I have heard SP1 will wear out your HD... caveat emptor.

Once installed, seems to work great.

LOL.....OK.
Just did the update....and no ill effects so far.
Which means to say, the rig rebooted.

I installed SP1 when it first came out on 3/24 on both of my machines and have had no problems with it.

No problems on the 4 computers I have it installed on.

If you have been installing the updates along the way there actually will not be a whole lot of changes except to incorporate them a bit better.

Same here. I've been running it since day 1 without a single problem. I've always been as up to date with any security or functionality patches as possible. I remember only one update that caused problems a year or two ago, but it caused problems for everybody, and Microsoft had to issue another update to fix the first update.

As a side note, I write software that is deployed to an inertial sensor manufacturing department, and I often have to release it untested. I have production give me any feedback, and I correct any issues within minutes.

The original release of Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 had a major bug in it that could cause data loss during installation. Microsoft had to quickly withdraw the Service Pack until it was fixed and re-released as Service Pack 6a.

Running WIN 7 64bit with Service Pack 1, on my i7-2600 rig, no problems.
Besides my LT, the i7 (2x EAH5870s), is my daily driver. So it'll be used for
video and audio streaming, editting, sometimes a game, but then i'll
shut BOINC down.
(Isn't it on the WINDOWS 7 install disk?) It is in my Dutch version.
So, I ran it from the start, on this host.

Only have to figure out, why BOINC 6.12.26; 64BIT, refuses to finish
install, so nothing, actually, happens(!?)

Did install BOINC 6.12.26 on production rig, X9650@3.5GHz+GTX480.
Also installed LUNATICs Installer V0.38.

Fred, didn't think that 0.38 was out yet? Can't see a link to install. I'm running the 0.37 version.

Fred might be a beta tester at Luni........

If you haven't updated to SP1 yet and use eVGA's Precision it has the possibility of breaking it. It did on one of my machines and not the other. On the one it did it's hard crashes the entire machine.

Interesting, I use Precision on both of my active machines and never had a problem before or after SP1.
