My computer just notified me that service pack 1 is ready for me to install on my Win7 64bit rig. (This one, my daily driver).

I haven't had any issues with it. Course, 7 isn't on the daily driver.

I have it on all of my systems (4 PCs, 1 laptop), no issues I've noticed yet. The only non-issue was that the install failed the first time it tried on one system, but worked the next time. No idea what happened the first time.

I have it installed on two PCs at my house; my daily driver and one other machine. So far, it's very solid. Of course, I don't let any of my machines go into standby at all.

I have heard SP1 will wear out your HD... caveat emptor. LOL.....OK. Just did the update....and no ill effects so far. Which means to say, the rig rebooted. ____________ ****** "Ask not, what your kitty can do for you. Ask what you can do for your kitty." As it is kitten, so shall it be done.

Same here. I've been running it since day 1 without a single problem. I've always been as up to date with any security or functionality patches as possible. I remember only one update that caused problems a year or two ago, but it caused problems for everybody, and Microsoft had to issue another update to fix the first update.

The original release of Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 had a major bug in it that could cause data loss during installation. Microsoft had to quickly withdraw the Service Pack until it was fixed and re-released as Service Pack 6a.

Did install BOINC 6.12.26 on production rig, X9650@3.5GHz+GTX480. Fred, didn't think that 0.38 was out yet? Can't see a link to install. I'm running the 0.37 version.

Did install BOINC 6.12.26 on production rig, X9650@3.5GHz+GTX480. Fred might be a beta tester at Luni........ Or he misquoted. ____________ ****** "Ask not, what your kitty can do for you. Ask what you can do for your kitty." As it is kitten, so shall it be done.
