I downloaded boinc_6.12.26_windows_intelx86.exe and started the install. I then got a Message box saying "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed." and that the installer is not correctly installed.

This surprised me somewhat as I regularly install stuff with no problems at all.

I'm running 32 bit XP SP3 and it's fully up-to-date. There's plenty of disk space too - >100GB. The machine is a Q6600 with 2GB of RAM and an Nvidia 8800GTS Graphic card.

Any ideas for a solution?

Thanks.

Simon.

One, don't use the 6.12.26 version, there was a major bug with it.

Try this one instead.
