(I also posted this in the Mac section, but I can delete one of them if needed) I've been able to install BOINC on two different Macs (iBook G4 and MacBook Pro) and they've both been able to connect to SETI@Home. However, when I try to connect it to my personal MacBook (2008), I can't get BOINC to even connect to the internet. I'm running OSX 10.6.7. After I try to connect to a project, I get: "Failed to add project An Error has occurred; check the Event Log for details. Click Finish to close." And when I go look at the Even Log, it says: "Notice from BOINC BOINC can't access Internet - check network connection or proxy configuration." This is odd because there isn't a firewall and I have a fast internet connection. Currently, in the lower right corner of Advanced View, it says "Connected to localhost (6.12.26)" That's pretty much all the information I have. Any help would be appreciated. |

Are all of your computers connected to the same Internet (use same external IP)? If not - read the two top threads about "HE connection problems" here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_forum.php?id=10 And updating of RAM have nothing to do with your connection problems - just a few days ago they (at the lab) "kicked" one of the routers. This "kick" made some of the people (IPs) that were having connection problems for months to be able finally to connect but at the same time ruined the connection of others that previously were able to connect (and for some - nothing changed) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |
