If even half of us crunchers sent in the minimum 10$, 90% of the hardware/bandwidth problems of SETI@home could probably be taken care of.

The remaining 10% are caused by the network gods, and only howling under a dark moon seems to appease them.

The Seti@Home Project is like a new hobby for me...The bad part is, there's not a lot for me to actually do other than lend my processors to the project and maintain the system. I don't actually get to get my hands dirty. Nonetheless, I still consider it a hobby and worthy of the time I do spend on it, and the cost involved (a new computer build and some donation money).

After my last donation, my wife is limiting me to one donation a month, hehe. She seems to think paying off my car takes more priority over discovering life outside of our solar system. Sheesh, women sure do have their priorities mixed up, don't they?! :P

Slavac, has there been anyone imposing donation limitations on you yet, my friend? You sure have been offering up some good amount of money for your fundraiser...I hope you aren't getting the evil eye from anyone like I did! :D

LoL oh I completely understand...it IS a hobby and there are a hundred real reasons (and more) that someone cannot donate more than their time, hardware, and power bill. But for all those of us who have just "never gotten around to it", like me for the last 8 years (::blush::)...this is just a simple request to give it another thought.
