Hello :)

I have at least 15 works done and ready to send. Says "sending" but they just "pending" instead :)

I hope you'll sync the RAID soon. I feel like I've found some extraterrestrial signals this time! :) ahah.

Cheers!

Re-syncing their RAIDs is a job they often set off then go home for the night, so don;t expect anything to happen until they get back in the lab on Friday - sometime after 16:0UTC (allow a bit after that for the caffeine level to reach critical...).

If previous outages like this are anything to go by then until they are convinced that the RAID is stable they won't turn on the other services like uploads and work unit generation.

First of all, thank you, Jeff Cobb for your update on SETI@Home.

With all Splitters, MB and AstroPulse down and the UPLoad server, too,
as of 27 May 2011 | 11:20:09 UTC, only if they get all SERVERS
working by the end of the day, or we'll have a quiet weekend ahead.

We won't die from it and it's not likely we get invaded by aliens, before
everything is working as it should.

Maybe a good time to do our own maintenance, like cleaning out dust
from our CPUs but specially our GPUs, check and run HD defrag,
perform a DRAM check, etc.

Check, if we don't run outdated, third-party app.'s, if our AV programs are still
'up to date', etc.

B.t.w. nice to see so many, foreign partissipants, wondering what's going on!

In the meanwhile the fan on my GT240 continues to burble along sounding like a Merc G400 CDI. Nice.

LOL

That's pretty cool ! Any idea as to how I cam make my little H.P. computer sound like a Harley Davidson ?? :>

Go to YouTube, search for "Amazing Harley Davidson sound" and record the sound, then splice it into a continuous loop on your machine.

:)

I'd provide a link but don't like doing that here.

I wish I could send you some of the hardware I have here in France.

But it's a bit heavy.

if an admin wants to contact me privately to talk about your storage requirement, maybe then I can see with my company if we have some hardware to donate.

I work with a well known Storage Company (SAN/NAS)

That's not a bad idea, but I don't want to slow BOINC down ! I'll just bring my Harley into the computer room and let it idle while I work :D. (Yeah, the wife would LOVE that. ;( Aliens must have gotten to my brain ? HAHAHA !

As an FYI - what sort of equipment are you running on the server side? and is there any call for Geographically Displaced Virtual computing to assist in upload/data distribution. I have access to datacentres and some Virtual environments that might be able to provide Localised upload/splitter environments...

Since I'll not be using this pc for much longer (I'm moving to my other pc in another town), I need to transfer all completed work. Is it possible to do something, or it will be lost?

SETI is quite famous around Asia as they announced the findings about earth-like planets

The question has been ask multiple times by multiple users, with no response. Why is the upload server disabled? Is this to allow the database to rebuild? How about some answers!
