Doesn't appear to have enough wing area to function as an airplane, Also, no metal known could withstand the temperatures generated by a vehicle that would be going 18,000 miles per hour upon first re-entry into the atmosphere. There would have to be ablating ceramic tile so far as I know.

There was the Ares I-X vehicle within the Constellation programme but it has all been cancelled.
