Evga makes a GTX580 with 3GB of ram thats water cooled(My ST1500 isn't certified for even one GTX590, Just GTX580 cards), Does anybody have a pair of them and what size power supply do You use If Ya have them? No I still haven't gotten beyond the htpc pc yet, As I still need to install a fan in It, Then install a water block on an Evga P55 Classified 200 motherboard and install blocks on 3 or 4 GTX295 cards. I have 5 GTX295 cards and 6 blocks, 2 blocks are new of course, I do have a no name 6th card, But that 295 had one gpu quit for an unknown reason, go figure. Oh and 1 GTX295 card already has a block installed and that explains why I have only 3 or 4 to do. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I have 3 gtx580 Hydrocopper2 with 1.5GB Ram in my system. I run 4 WU's on each card at the same time. The GPU load on the cards is around 90%-95% and memory consumption is around 1200MB. I think you don't need to buy a gtx580 with 3GB RAM because the GPU load is already at max with 4 WU's. The power consumption of my system is around 850 to 950W. You will need a 1200W PSU for 3 gtx580 or 2 gtx590 or a 1500W PSU to run 4 gtx580 or 3 gtx590. I'm looking for a PSU to run 4 gtx590 but they are hard to find. I think i'll try to put two 850W PSU together in a spcial case. |

I think I'll try to put two 850W PSU together in a special case. Ok, Thats good to know, 3GB is off the list. Yeah the Silverstone ST1500 is supposed to be able to handle 4 of the 580 cards(But no mention If that applied to the 3GB version or not, or if either type of the cards could be overclocked or not on the ST1500), But no mention of the 590 cards(Bugger). I was more interested in power usage per card which I can't find, Of course Evga says 42A/600w not per card, But per PC, Silverstone says 25A per card at most on the ST1500 as thats the most continuous amps available on that psu, the ST1500 can do peak amps of 30, But that isn't very long I've read. In any case I'm just curious for now as I've got to save some money up so I can move and that will take some time. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I have figured out how to use the two psus(a Silverstone ST1500 1500w psu and a Thermaltake W0158RU 650w drive bay video card psu) that I have with 3 GTX590 Hydro Copper cards, Which means I would need 6 adapters that currently don't exist and I've contacted Frozen cpu for advice on this. The Silversone ST1500 1500W PSU has 4 6Pin PCIE Connectors and 4 8Pin PCIE Connectors. If you look at the EVGA SPECS of the gtx590 you need 2 8Pin or 4 6Pin Connectors for each card: Requirements Inside the EVGA gtx590 Box you can find 2 adapters for making one 8Pin out of two 6Pins. So you can run 3 gtx590 cards with the ST1500 PSU. Only if you want to run 4 gtx590 you need to have a second PSU. |

Yes you will need a big case and don't forget about a massive cooling system. I've got a big case, It's a Cooler Master HAF-932 that I have, Cooling, Lets see I have 3 radiators(120x360ea), a couple of pumps, both w/a reservoir. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Yes you will need a big case and don't forget about a massive cooling system. Well I was contemplating replacing the old case with a Silverstone Raven 3 or a HAF-X case as It has 8 openings instead of 7 and yes better filters(the HAF-X has 9 openings instead of 7, but no filters), The Raven or X would allow Me to move a video card that covering the last pci-e slot into that slot and opening the previously occupied slot for something else. But the HAF-932 will do, As It can handle the ST1500 psu and the Raven 3 I think won't allow a psu longer than 180mm and the ST1500 is 220mm in length. The motherboard is an EVGA P55 Classified 200. Well that settles that, The ST1500 psu and the Raven 3 are not compatible, I'd emailed Silverstonetek and that's It, they did say the ST1200-G power supply will fit and there are no brackets for radiators in the Raven case either, Nice case, But It's out of consideration now.
