A times ago Matt written that they found 10-MB switch and replaced it for 100-MB switch. And yes, after it WU were downloaded faster than ever. But now speed of download WU is low again. Is there another slow switch? ;-( |

You don't need anything faster than 1 KB/s for task download (= 6 minutes/task). The fastest of your "computing elements" (NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M) need minimum of 30 minutes to finish one task. Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Really? What about Astropulse' WU of 8 MB? I'm really sad to look to process of its downloading. High speed seems to me more comfortable, even though low speed is enough... |

Yes, at a speed of 1 KB/s you will need >2 hours for 8 MB download (and much more to compute the Astropulse task). If I (occasionally) look at the task downloads I see speed of 5-50 KB/s (on 12 Mbit/s DSL) What speed do you see? Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

It depend. On 10 Mbps DSL from 0 to 20 KB/s. Often, when speed is low to zero, it stopped at all and "will be started after 5:00:00". I would like to say that after Matt have said about replaced switch, the speed was increased about 50-100 KB/s, but now decreased again. |

When you see slow download check the green on this graph: http://fragment1.berkeley.edu/newcricket/grapher.cgi?target=%2Frouter-interfaces%2Finr-250%2Fgigabitethernet2_3;view=Octets;ranges=d If it's maxed (at ~90 Mbit/s) the problem is in the overload of outside Internet link of download servers which is 100 Mbit/s  - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)  |
