Hi, i have a small NAS box (exito B3) running a ARM cpu, the system is
debian squeeze ( armv5tel ). It seems to me that there is no work units
available for that cpu architecture.
Thats in my opinion a bit stupid, because there is thousands of those
cpu's in daily use. In the Excito B3 case, it is always on and
connected to the internet at all times.
The Exctio B3 specs is:
1.2 GHz ARM and 512 MB DDR2 RAM.
Disk sises 40gb(ssd disk),500gb,1TB,2TB
Two Gigabit Ethernet NICs
2x USB 2.0
802.11abgn, dual band, MIMO ( optional )
Power use: 5-13W (from 5W with SSD, from 8W with HDD)

The SETI@Home source code is open source. The SETI@Home team consists of about 5 part-time employees who spend the majority of their time trying to keep the servers running or trying to get funding for the project.
As you can imagine, support for the most popular platforms is priority. x86 Windows, Mac, and Linux. Only Linux has official 64bit apps. All others are provided by 3rd parties.
Then there's CUDA, of which nVidia wrote the apps, and they only provided one for Windows. Mac and Linux have no official CUDA support, and the guys have no time for coding, testing and validating.
If you think ARM CPUs are that important to the project's success, you can always try to write a port yourself. Or ask a programmer for help if you know one.

I have tried to build a SETI applicaiton and a BOINC client for ARM, but got some troubles with thin my tests. Are you interested to help testing me the Linux ARM BOINC cient and SETI application?
