Well I don't see whole powdered eggs as a problem, Except for local stores, But then I can't see My self driving 25 miles a week just for eggs and leafy greens, Not at $4.099 a gallon as 1 gallon lasts for about 26 miles around town. This is crazy. As a kid earning minimum wage I thought nothing of taking a trip to Cabo (even if the road was not built yet). Gas in the US was about 28 cents a gallon. In Mexico I paid about 240 pesos a liter. (about 10 US cents a gallon at the time) and my Datsun pick up got about 25 mpg. Today I pay 4.17 a gallon if I shop around and get 16 mpg. Progress? |

Never went to Cabo, but I remember $0.25/gallon gas, too. And at $4.299/gallon now, I'm still driving the 1987 Olds 4-cylinder with 77,000 miles on a rebuilt engine (250,000 miles on the chassis) that still gets 29 mpg! Haven't even looked at new cars for years, but from the TV ads, new cars that come close to that mileage rating cost >$20K! No way! I'll keep winning with old faithful. My car is a 1999 Ford Escort zx2, It has a fuel injected 2.0L 4 cylinder engine w/a K&N air filter and a K&N oil filter which uses 5w30 Royal Purple motor oil(Before It used to give off white smoke, Afterwards no smoke), Which has around 77,800 miles on the odometer currently and yes I remember when gas cost $0.10 a gallon and Gulf Oil had some Gas Stations in California, Those were the days, Gas was cheap, But It'll never be less than $3.00 a gallon again, The oil is just too expensive to get now.
